I like Page, hes almost like a small LB.

    http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...164/740186-page-tendered-2nd-round-level.html

The Patriots announced tonight that they have extended tender offers to restricted free agents BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Jarrad Page.

The team did not announce the level of the tenders, but according to sources, both are at the second-round level.

The tender to Green-Ellis was expected, while Page's tender is a sign that the Patriots are interested working with him. Page enters his sixth NFL season and prior to last season, the team had traded a 2012 seventh-round draft choice to Kansas City to acquire him, and paid him a one-year salary of $1.7 million.

Good moves, Page was a nice addition. It just sucks he got that calf injury.

Page did a great job taking care of McGowan's role.

Happy he'll be back and if he's not I'll be happy with a 2nd round pick.

Arrington was tendered as an exclusive rights free agent, as well.

Soooooo say you're the Dolphins and everyone has you taking Ingram. Would you rather have BJGE for a 2nd?

That seems to confirm that the team is high on Page. I think a year in the system will benefit him a lot and have high hopes for him.

thats every interesting about the BJGE example.

How would you feel if a team gave us their 2nd for him? it'd leave a very very big hole at RB. would you be happy with a rookie for it. Thomas was just resigned by the saints and he was my FA RB binkie

Re: Page and BJGE? tendered at 2nd-round level

i love BJGE and i hope they give him a long term deal but the fact is if he's not in the back field with Brady he would not get the stats that he got... he's a perfact fit for the pats but he's not a take over a game type RB that the fish need

I disagree. He earned his yardage. Many RB's were behind Brady and never got to 1000 yards, Dillion in 2004 being the last. Also, BJGE only started 11 games last year.

Yep. I don't know what he's done to prove to anybody else he's worth a 2nd-rounder, so there's an excellent chance he'll be back.

Re: Page and BJGE? tendered at 2nd-round level

BJGE wasn't missing games, so let's not point to the "11 games" thing as if it means anything in this context. Also, BJGE wasn't sharing the running load the way previous leading backs had been doing it, so let's not point to 1008 yards as if it's something amazing, either.

    2010: 229/454 (.504)
    2009: 194/466 (.416)
    2008: 156/513 (.304)
    2007: 185/451 (.410)
    2006: 199/499 (.400)
    2005: 209/439 (.476)

That's the carry percentage for the team's leading rusher (in terms of carries) for each year since 2004, along with the number of carries.

BJGE is a grinder. The questions are whether or not he's a good enough grinder, and whether or not the team would be better served by getting someone who has more explosion to his game. No matter what your opinion is regarding the first question, I think it's fair to say that the jury is still out on the second.

Why are we still knocking BJGE? First 1,000 yard Pats back since 2004. Solid runner between the tackles who runs hard and doesn't turn the ball over. The Pats offering him the 2nd round tender shows how much they like him. That's not a negative imo.

Meh...i was more than satisfied with Woodhead and BJGE last season..both those guys rarely lost yards and didn't turn the ball over, they were definately an improvement from Maroney.I wouldn't mind adding somebody else to the backfield though.

So we finally get a guy who runs for over 1,000 hard fought yds and zero fumbles yet folks here want to let him go for another Chad Jackson, Wheatley draft pick? WTF?

Me I'm glad the Pats are on the same Page.

Re: Page and BJGE? tendered at 2nd-round level

my post was not a knock on BJGE it was a Reply to a post that asked would the fish give up a 2th round pick for him... but my point still stands he is not a take over a game RB if he was the pats would have give him the ball more vs the jets and not Woodhead, he got a 1000 yerds on a pass first team that had the lead vs almost every team they played so it's not like he was faceing 8 man front and got a 1000 yerds

BJGE is a grinder, a player that teams don't fear, he is a solid player and a perfect backup type of player, even short yardage or a clock killer. However, teams aren't too concerned about him taking the ball all the way and that means they can play the pass all day long and let BJGE get his 3-6 yards..

I completely disagree here. While fans like to speak in terms of 'fearing a player' defenses are not built around playing the pass all day to hand you 3-6 yards.
"Taking the ball all the way" is rare, and defenses do not choose to not defend plays that wont result in 80 yard TDs. You must defend the run, and many RBs have had dominant seasons with few runs over 30 yards.
