I know there are a lot of people here who are Pats fans living outside of New England, that find this forum as their best connection to what is going on with the favorite football team. Just thought I would mention a couple of columns by Pats fans that have just written about their experiences of being a Pats fan far away from Foxboro.

Just a New England Girl, Living in a Titans World

Being a Patriot fan in no-Pats-land

Click on the links to read the rest of their columns; hope to hear more from them as the season progresses.

So what experiencers do other out of towners have?

    #51 Jersey

If I'm wearing my Tedy Bruschi replica jersey, Patriots cap and am barefoot in public in tracksuit paints and am short of a dollar there's always the off chance that I can plonk myself on the floor, put my hat on ground upturned and hold a piece of cardboard asking for people to donate a talon for an old ex-leper.

Easiest couple of hundred dollars you'll ever make. Not only do I get to spread the good word of the Patriots to the subconscious of the Western Australian masses but they pay me for it!

OK OK that was a complete fabrication ;)

I've been a Lancaster county PA native all my life and a Patriot fan since 4th grade I'm 27, I kept going between them and the Packers as my favorite football team.
Once the Patriots drafted Drew Bledsoe who my POP POP was very high on and touting while he was in school, I became a full fledged Pats fan ever since.
Living in Lancaster was tough before I had direc tv cause the only Patriots info I got was from Patriots weekly which I must have a thousand magazines in a trunk in my basement.
It used to be hard to be a Pats fan cause people said they sucked, then it was hard being a Pats fan cause people called us cheaters.
I'm in Eagles country home of the most obnoxious low football IQ you'd never want to have the pleasure of knowing.
In highschool I dropped a pass in a critical game my coach said I had Terry Glenn hands that night:D.
I'm a huge Patriots fan damn proud of it love this site been going to it for years and am married into a Cowboy family.

I don't really have any cool stories yet, but as a Pats fan living in Iowa, the Pats vs NFCN games will be huge! My area is full of Green Bay, Minnesota, and Chicago fans.

Great to see the dedication and representation not just only away from the New England area, but all over the world. Nice thread.

I am here in Pittsburgh, and the natives here aren't very classy or understanding regarding other fanbases, especially one who prevented them from going to the SB 2x in their recent memories.

Looking forward to attending the game on 11/14 here at Heinz Field. Go Pats!

I can swear that most of the dings and marks on my car's front and back bumpers appeared after I put on the Pats flag and stickers. :D

And that was six years ago after I moved from Brookline, MA.

ps1- I was pleasantly surprised to see many Pats fans with their jerseys when I went to see the Pats-Gints pre-season last Thursday.

ps2 - Foxboro is >>>>>>>>>>> the new Meadowlands stadium.

I guess I'm in no-NFL-fans-land. No locals here know what the hell a Patriot is. Some vaguely know of something called a "Super Bowl". The bar down the street that plays some NFL games is full of whores and I don't care for it. One of my fellow American ex-pats here is a Packers fan. Another buddy is a Vikings fan. The rest are European and only like their football. The only American that works for me here is a casual Colts fan.

Sometimes I feel very, very lonely football-wise. I felt a bit of a connection when the Pats had their office in Beijing, but that's gone now. If you see me stalking this place at all hours of the day and night, you can understand why. You may also understand why I'm willing to spend so much time and money to fly home once or twice a year to see a game from "my" seats at Gillette (that my dad looks after now).

Gee thanks, now I'm depressed! ;)

Honestly though, this board is one of my best connections to back home, and it helps to keep me sane (even if sometimes it drives me crazy).

I live in Buffalo. They despise the Patriots here. Go to a bar during a Patriots game and people shout with glee when bad things happen.

I would wear my Patriot gear more but I am a gear jinx. Meaning, everytime I wear a Pats jersey or cap, they lose. Bought a brand new retro Pat Patriot hate for the 2007-8 Super Bowl. The thing was destroyed sometime in the 3rd qtr, later burned.

My 4-year old daughter did wear her Seymour jersey to her pre-school's sports jersey day. 90% of the other kids were wearing Buffalo Sabres jerseys, a few Bills jerseys, one Sox and one Yankees jersey.

Thanks :D, but I'm not sure about that. There are some fans in even more remote parts than I am.

Live in Minnesota. Whole lot of Favre talk. I feel like the popularity of the Vikings and the NFL in general has exploded since they drafted AD. Not too terrible place to live football wise cause the connection is definitely here. Ive even met my share of Patriots fans around these parts.
Only negative is of course that I dont get to watch nearly half the Pats games live without Sunday Ticket... and of course the standard bandwagon and cheater reply when people find out Im a Pats fan. I think its cause theyre still bitter that their team was stupid enough to mishandle Moss.

You are aware that the Chinese Military can take care of your Colts problem for a packet of rice and an iPod mini right?

They're probably not as insane as I am. I've flown in for at least one or two games in each of the past 3 seasons. I hope to keep the streak alive this year. The MNF game vs the Jets in December is looking very tempting.

I'm not trying to top Patjew, but I am writing this from above the Arctic Circle...specifically the Kuparuk oil field in Alaska. I live in Homer, AK...picture Vermont by the ocean...ummm with longer, darker, colder winters. Google it if you're curious. A truly beautiful place. We catch halibut and tanner crabs, dig clams and net salmon. I'm hoping they open up shrimp soon. I fly up to the oilfield for 2 weeks and get 2 weeks off.

The oilfield has rabid fans form all over the counrty. Most are knowledgable and will eventually admit spygate was BS. I mostly lurk here because I don't know much about football. This is my one stop shopping for all things Patriot.

BTW, my wife is Chinese from Nanniny City.

I think you win so far.

OMG, that looks beautiful! My wife and I have always said that we wanted to live "in" the TV show Northern Exposure. Looks like you do.

Is your wife from Nanning, Guangxi? I'm not familiar with Nanniny.

You live in Alaska and your wife is from China. Coincidentally, our direct neighbors here in China are from Alaska. That means that in this little neighborhood of foreigners, Rhode Island borders Alaska.

PS - be like me; don't let not knowing anything about football stop you from posting!
