You have to understand that much of the hatred/ severity from other teams and the media is the result of shock more than anything else. As the dozens of threads from every team's website begin to fall off, and the major news sites begin to clear this from their headlines, time and perspective will slowly bring justice to what this is: an infraction on our part, a chink in the armor of greatness, but no reason to think much less of a dynasty.

There will always be people that hate our team out of jealousy. They have never give us our due to begin with. There will always be people who swear Bush was behind 9/11. Conspiracy theorists get excited the prospect of a underhanded workings, and what better, more publicized team is there than the Patriots?

Most of us will feel much better the moment our guys step on the field on Sunday night, when we all breathe with relief that, indeed, the sky has not fallen, we are still the New England Patriots. The talking heads will quickly move past the scandal, and onto the next scandal, or the next Randy Moss highlight.

Let's hope that other fan bases had a great week teeing off on our team this week. We really separated the truly "classy" NFL players and coaches from the whiners and losers, as this was one of the few times where players could make excuses and whine while getting off with impunity from the media.

Players hate us because of our arrogance, not our success. There have been many franchises. None, to my knowledge, have been as hated as the current New England Patriots. And this is really impressive since just three years ago, WE were becoming America's Team.

Believe it or not, America does NOT hate a winner.

All of this will go away, the media made more of it than it really was because they wanted to see the pats fall. The Broncos cheated the salary cap to keep elway and TD on the team and they won 2 superbowls.....nobody thinks about that when they talk about the broncos. (and shannahan is still coaching) Now the two things are not the same, just making a point.

The Raiders, the Cowboys, the Broncos, the Steelers, the Bears have all been equally despised by competitors. The difference is the timing. The NFL has never been bigger, and fans have never had more ability to communicate their feelings on public forums. It is that surge of public interest, whipped to a frenzy by reckless speculation driven by mediots, that forced the commissioner's heavy hand in this non-incident.

You are right. Soon people won't be talking about.

But they won't forget - especially this season. Road games will be tough since the signs and cat-calls of cheating will follow them everywhere.

NE's legacy is tarnished, but intact.

Belichick skated. He gets no suspension for cheating while another coach is suspended 5 games for taking prescribed HGH for impotency....

Thank you Mr. Kraft. Your clout in the NFL was never more apparent than today.

In 20 years from now people may still be talking about this weeks happenings,It will not be forgotten by many and many will still hate the Patriots....but I could not care less what they think

Despite the guy in the second post's commentary, you're right, this is all about JEALOUSY, HATERS & HATING.

The Patriots players have in no way been viewed as arrogant by other players. The muzzle BB puts on them doesn't allow them to give other teams bulletin board material and he knows it. If anything, the Patriots have been the LEAST vocal about their talents.

And we weren't becoming America's team, we were NAMED America's team just recently.

Like I wrote in another thread:

Get out all your venom lest you poison your spirits. The spirit of the Patriots fans will remain strong & burn brightly regardless. When you're finally finished and too tired to hate any more, we will still be standing, millions strong. NOTHING will drag us down or make us feel ashamed. After all, none of us or the players we cheer for did anything wrong.

Now maybe YOUR fans cheer for an organization and the coach and that's all fine. We, the millions of Patriots fans are united and solid. Our passion is rooted in our own heritage as fans of the New England Patriots which has been passed down from generation to generation. Our pride and our loyalty to Bob Kraft, coach Belichick and most of all, the players who wear the red, white & blue remains unshaken and immoveable.

No matter what you think, say or do, you can not change ANY of the things which I speak. I understand why you feel the way you do and wish I could help you with the pain that has caused some of you to speak with raging hate. But the only way that will happen is if you win the game Sunday night.

So you see, it still all comes down the game. It's still all settled upon the battlefield of Gillette Stadium...damn I wish this game was being played on the frozen tundra in January...but hey, maybe it will be!
