Who would *lose* the "Loser Bowl," if the loser becomes GRONK chow?

A question for everybody: if the 2008 Lions were somehow transported through time to take on the 2011 Colts, who would win? (Let's forget about the "Suck for Luck" deal—assume that the losing team gets turned into chow for GRONK to give them an incentive to win.)

So we'd have Dan Orlovsky quarterbacking both teams? That'd be interesting.

I always thought of the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-14 en route to 26 straight losses) as being the worst team in modern history, and the 1934 Cincinnati Reds (0-8; scored one touchdown and one field goal all season while giving up 243 points) as being the worst team in NFL history.

1990 Patriots

If you were old enough and witnessed 15 of those 16 weeks of pure garbage and Rod Rust's failures, you would agree.

The 1981 Colts were pretty bad as well....that Colts defense in 1981 makes this years Patriots defense look like the 85 Bears.

Not sure who was the worst but the 1990 Pats were brutal. 1-15 with 14 consecutive losses or around there. Thank god I was in college and was under the influence 80% of the time and end zone seats were $18. :D

1991 Patriots

If you were old enough and witnessed 15 of those 16 weeks of pure garbage and Rod Rust's failures, you would agree.

I think you mean 1990.

1991 was a banner year- 6-10!!!

Nobody knows how good the Colts are since winning hasn't been one of their goals since the start of the season.

The 1976 Buccaneers. No question.

any Jets team from the past 42 years...of course I could be wrong...I'm a little bit biased against the Rats...

I lived just south of Tampa in 79. Was watching a game and the camera was panning the crowd as they hit a beach ball around. This went on for some time......while the game was being played.

The 76 Bucs were the first ones to pop into my head. I thought I'd be all cool and be the first one to say it. Instead, I'm fifth, but I'd say it's pretty firm vote on this forum for that team.

When the 2011 Colts put in the effort, they're a pretty tough out.

I was going to say the 1990 Patriots... Sometimes we (the Pats fans) need perspective to appreciate what we have now.

Exactly. Its not just the record from the 1990 season that's bad but its also the off the field stuff that is just as bad (ie: the Lisa Olsen incident).

96 Jets
07 Dolphins
01 Panthers

Teams with an average margin of loss greater than 15 PPG since the merger...

Team (W-L), Margin of Loss

1976 Bucs (0-14), 20.5 PPG
1972 Pats (3-11), 18.1 PPG
1973 Oilers (1-13), 17.7 PPG
1981 Colts (2-14), 17.1 PPG
1990 Pats (1-15), 16.6 PPG
2009 Rams (1-15), 16.3 PPG
2000 Browns (3-13), 16.1 PPG
2008 Lions (0-16), 15.6 PPG
1972 Oilers (1-13), 15.4 PPG
1987 Falcons (3-13), 15.4 PPG
1976 Jets (3-11), 15.3 PPG
2011 Colts (0-12), -15.3 PPG
1970 Pats (2-12), -15.1 PPG
1971 Bills (1-13), -15.0 PPG

The only team with 3 all-time worst seasons AND 3 Super Bowl titles! GO PATS!!!

'76 Bucs win it by a long shot. Not only were they 0-14 and had the worst margin of loss, they were the worst offensive team of the group, scoring only 125 points (8.9 PPG) in the season. The '77 Bucs were actually worse offensively, scoring only 103 points in 14 games, but the defense was pretty good, allowing only 223 points.

If the colts are tanking the season for the #1 pick I'd put them at beyond worst,
wouldn't even call them a team, more like a farse, charade, swindle or sham.

curtis painter a QB with only 8 passes thrown in the NFL starts before Orvlovsky who's played a half season and been around the league much longer. makes sense:rolleyes:

I'm sure Polian was dying to beat us and had Oafsky put in to increase their odds.

their preseason stats are both dreadful, painter edged Orvlov out by a spec nothing spectacular. I'd stick with experience over marginal preseason stats if winning was the priority.

worst sham of a team in NFL history:bricks:
