NEVER count anyone out on any given week. It was a month ago when we all thought the Cards, Eagles, Ravens, and to some extent when Big Ben was getting knocked around, the Steelers were toast. It was a month ago when we all thought the Bucs, Cowboys, Jets, and Bears were not only locks for the playoffs, but would make some noise once they got there.

Guess what-the formers mentioned are in the final 4, while the latters have problems, problems, problems so far this offseason.

And for that matter too-we all thought the best locks for the Super Bowl were the Giants, Titans, Panthers, and Falcons. Look how poorly they performed in their opening games.

Pt being that we have to remember this isn't baseball, basketball, hockey, etc where the series is played out over 7 games. We seem to be forgetting how football is ONLY ONE game. On any typical day, a QB can be inaccurate, a receiver can run a few bad routes/show bad hands, an OL can have a bad day blocking, DBs can have a bad day covering, key guys can go down with injuries, players can show their lack of discipline, and coordinators/HCs can put out the most putrid of game plans. Like I said-sadly, it's SUDDEN DEATH when it comes to the playoffs.

Remember what Mike Ditka once said-you're goal is NOT to go undefeated, but to WIN a championship.

I've learned that the NFL is going down hill. For example, the NFL needs to fix their rookie pool. Top draft pick busts are becoming too common and will continue to wreck franchises that already suck and ruin it for franchises that are close of getting over the hump. Because of the insane amount of money these unproven jack offs are demanding coming out of college, are scaring away teams that have the worst records in the NFL. Nobody wants the top pick anymore because of the pressure of getting it right. The NBA has got their act together with their rookie pool because if a team drafts a bust in the early first round, it won't kill them.

Teams like the Dolphins, are ruining the NFL. Talk about parity!

Lastly, although injuries are apart of the game, its wrecking the NFL.

I think this year more than most really didn't have any dominant team. Both the Titans and Colts had 12 or more wins but watching both of them you could see that they could fold at any time. The Giants were the closest team but the loss of Plaxico was too much. Otherwise, there isn't a team in the league that you could have looked at and said they are close to a flawless team. Or at least flawless by NFL standards.

Seriously? The Bears? What year is this.

It doesn't matter how you get into the playoffs, it's how you do when you get to the playoffs. The Eagles are one win away from being the 3rd #6 seed to reach the SuperBowl this decade, the Steelers and Giants being the others.

Exactly. Wouldn't surprise me much if the Eagles get a Lombardi. Basically every team besides the Steelers makes a great Superbowl story. Steelers played decently, earned it and it would be geneally kinda forgettable if they win, imo. Not that Steelers fans would ever shut up about it...
