Deepest wishes and thoughts go out to the Ordway family. May they all pull through to lead wonderful, healthy, happy lives.

Heard his conference call, pretty moving.. hope all are well.

There is nothing in life any more devastating than the mortality of your child.
I pray for the well-being of the Ordway family.

This is the first I heard of it, also not a Big Show fan, but that's irrelevant.

Ouch. This sort of thing was common in other eras, but is thankfully pretty rare today.

Very sad.

And best wishes for the most favorable possible outcome!

Same here. I couldn't help but admire him for articulating it so matter-of-factly without just breaking down. All the best to the Ordways. God speed a full recovery to all involved.

My best wishes and prayers go out to him and his family.

Dear Glen,

I've tuned 'EEI out many years ago. But as someone who often works in the same building as you, albeit on the other side of the connector, my sincerest thoughts, wished and hopes that your wife and your daughter will pull through. Hang in there big guy.

I've been away for 2 months and haven't posted but this story touches me. 5 years ago I had a similar experience where at birth the gdaughter had heart problems and was rushed from Winchester Hospital into Childrens for immediate treatment by a team of heart specialists in a setting that looked like the Starship Enterprise deck. Looking at the really really sick kids and their parents was heart rending. Fortunately, in our case all turned out well. It's the girl at 2 1/2 in my icon pic.

Heartfelt best wishes to the Ordway family.

Amen to that. When my son was born, he had an onstruction in his lungs that limited his ability to breath, and I spent several days with him at the Neonatal intensive care unit. You can't imagine real heartache until you visit a place like that and see what some kids and parents have to go through.

Glen, I'll light a candle for you and yours, and hope you get the miracles you ask for.

Respects,

My son spent his first 4 months at NICU in Boston Children's. It's a very humbling place. My wife didn't come home for that 4 months. The hospital provided a small room and a cot for her (about the size of a broom closet) because she refused to go home. I know exactly what he's going through. You never feel as insignificant and helpless as you do when your child's life is out of your hands. It's sad.

Damn. I hope Glenn and his family can get through this. He is awesome on WEEI and I love to listen to him, so hopefully things get better.

Just terrible to hear something like this. Wishing all the best for their whole family.

Will say a prayer for the family! Hang in there Glen!

My most sincere thoughts and prayers to the Ordway family. Get well soon.

i've never met the big o but i listen almost everyday. my prayers go to his family.

If anyone hears of any update please post it asap.
My continued prayers go out to the entire family.

My best wishes to Glen and his family. I truly hope everyone comes through OK.

He was on a little while ago, but the board was having a hissy...

Said his wife gave birth to a little girl, Mia Grace, but there were serious traumaic injuries suffered by both his wife and the baby during delivery. His wife is being treated at Brigham and the baby has been sent to Children's where they are hoping for miracles. He wasn't any more specific but it sounds pretty dreadful. Said he will be out until the situation changes and he wanted to let listeners know and limit speculation on his unscheduled absence. I know it was a second marriage fo Glen who has an older child, but the couple also has a little boy who must be a toddler now.

Folks who are so inclined might want to keep a good thought for the family. Glen is a pretty good guy and a FOB (Friend of Bill).

Just caught this......my prayers go out to Glen and his family......His daughter is in one of the best children's hospitals in the nation IMHO.......may god bless.....

I just saw this, very upsetting news and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Ordway family.

Renewed prayers to the Ordway family...
