Was not going to post this here, until I saw that crazy dream post and figured wtf. While channel surfing last night caught the last 10 minutes of the World Cup, US vs Brazil. The game was tied 1-1, then Freddie Adu put a must-see move on a defender, passed to the open man and we scored. For the next 8 minutes that game was exciting as any sporting event as the U.S. goalie had to make some great saves to ensure the victory. Brazil was one of the favored teams to win the tourney. Anyone else see this game?

It wasn't the World Cup, but the U20 World Cup. Incidently, Freddie made an awsome shot against Poland a few nights back....so much for those who were calling him a bust.

Meanwhile in the more prestigious Copa America....

    Group C standings

--------- Points - Won - Draws - Lost -Goals forced- Goals Allowed- Goal Differential
    Argentina-- 9------ 3 ---- 0 ----- 0 ------- 9 ----------- 3 ------------- +6
    Paraguay-- 6------ 2 ---- 0 ----- 1 ------- 8 ----------- 2 ------------- +6
    Columbia-.- 3------ 1 ---- 0 ----- 2 ------- 3 ----------- 9 ------------- -6
    USA ------ 0------ 0 ---- 0 ----- 3 ------- 2 ----------- 8 ------------- -6

Why even go if you don't send your best players? I hope Landon Donovan is enjoying playing for the sub .500 Galaxy.

It's about money, the Copa America doesn't provide enough, so the premiere players don't go. Brazil sent nobody. Argentina and Mexico had their frontline teams, or close to it.
