I have a hard time believing the Pats will try to go after him (if he's released) when he already turned them down before more than once.
What do you mean 'money just got to him'?
What's that pic in your avatar? I always wonder.
What do you mean 'money just got to him'? He didn't want to take a paycut, he wanted to make as much money as he could. I'm pretty sure being in the league 12 years has more to do with where his skills are now than his financial dealings.
If Ty's priority in this business is to maximize his earning then he certainly did the right thing. Or do you think that the Patriots wouldn't cut him the moment they thought he was no longer worth what they were paying him just like the Chiefs are going to do?
Making team decisions based on pride would be monumentally stupid and not at all in keeping with how this team has been run. If they make Ty an offer it will be one that makes sense-they have never gotten in pissing matches over dollar amounts and let it become personal regardless of whether the player makes it so. They assess what a player is worth and if the player wants more they are free to go try and get it.
It's a business, try not to take it personally.
If Harrison retires after Sunday,
Ty Law is still better than 75% of the CB's. .
I'd be perfectly happy with a secondary consisting of
CB -- Ty Law
CB -- Ellis Hobbs
CB/FS -- Randall Gay
CB -- Chad Scott
CB -- high pick rookie
S -- Rodney Harrison
S -- James Sanders
S -- Brandon Meriweather
S -- Mel Mitchell
S/CB -- Willie Andrews
PS -- Antwoin (sp?) Spann
PS -- Ray Ventrone
PS -- new late pick/UDFA
And don't add further bodies when the injuries hit, because that's a bit greedy in terms of roster spots, given that next year won't be a good time to skimp on QBs, RB/FBs, or LBs.
If Brady retires after Sunday, who do you think the Pats should go after?
Sorry for being snippy, but I'm really tired of threads being derailed by the idea of Harrison retiring.
Anyhow -- Law is a very nice solid vet CB to play in the Pats' system. He's almost the ideal FA signing TO PLAY CB.

This year, he had two total INTs this entire year and
in Champ Baileys last 7 full seasons, he's had more than 3 INT's only twice.
you can't just look at INT's, b/c it doesn't consider how often a guy was thrown at, nor does it consider how good of a job a CB did when his guy did catch the ball.
