Has the Tom Brady persona been greatly impacted in a negative way since Bridget's announcement?

In my opinion he's 29 and a legendary football player who brought a mediocre franchise to fruition. I dread the day when he retires. Whether he was morally perfect off the field just doesn't bother me or concern me. It frustrates me more that he's not 13-1 in the playoffs right now than this whole story which is probably getting more spotlight than its worth because of the offseason.

I put a poll up to see where the majority lies on this.

I guess I'm missing something... I don't see a poll- where is it????

Sorry you were too fast for me. I was submitting the poll guess it puts the thread live before I submit.

Nothing has changed for me as a fan. I view him as a capable leader and Quarterback. I'm sure many things will change for him though. I'm sure they will. Most athletes are very good at being able to keep their private lives separate from their jobs. I'm confident Tom will be no different.

This poll is ridiuclous!

Tom Brady did not pen himself as the Golden Boy of the NFL, the media painted that image. He never said he was perfect and at times tried to go out of his way to let people know he was in fact human (internet porn anyone!). No matter how many of us think it was a trap or a ploy by Moynahan to save her relationship that was obviously going South, Tom is doing himself no favors by jumping out on the scene with a supermodel just weeks after he broke off a 3 year relationship! Knowing of the pregnancy at the time or not, that is a very cold thing to do. Any woman is going to go ape shiat on your arse and then to find out and apparently tell the ex you are now carrying his child and not have it matter to the ex who then continues to go out with the supermodel. She had to endure seeing a video of her ex and baby daddy doing the walk of shame just a month later, come on, this girl has every reason to be off her rocker in hate for him and has apparently used the press to get to Tom. She is doing a good job at is. Sad indeeded that both are using the media to attack one another. Sad for the baby and sad for their families. What is very strange is that when they were together they flew under the radar, they were called classy and made for each other, but boring! This is anything BUT boring!!!!

Face it, he was put on an impossible pedestal by the media and we the fans LOVED keeping him on that pedestal - he had no where to do but down. I think the situation is very sad and right now he is angry as hell at Bridget and they seem to just hate one another right now. He needs to get rid of that anger and hate and be as level headed as possible for the sake of his child's life. I think he will work it out. Let's hope Bridget can do the same and let the anger go and not appear on Oprah or name her kid Peyton to really get back at Tom!

My opinion about Brady hasn't changed one bit, what has changed is my opinion of the people who report this and think it is a big deal. The Herald web site has this as the main page story for 2 days now and those witches even take shots at Brady's sisters now because they have had babies out of wedlock. I'd like to see someone dig into the pasts of these two shrews and publish it and see how they like it.

It hasn't changed for me. He's still a great quarterback, the face and leader of the team, and I wouldn't want it any other way. What he does in his private life, is exactly that, private.

As I said in another thread my opinion of Tom Brady hasn't changed at all,and I'm both proud and grateful he's part of this franchise. Jezuz he didn't kill anybody,he wasn't arrested for DUI,he hasn't beaten, shot or stabbed anybody. If I were him I'd be out of the country too until this dies down to a dull roar. Bridgette did well by waiting until he was absent to announce it so that he wouldn't have the media and fans in his face.
How many of these threads do we need? :bricks: We can chastise the media all we want but as long as this remains a hot topic it will be written about,so as we complain about it being front page news, it also would behoove us to examine our contribution to keeping it there.
The initial shock is over,it's time to move on,and jmho but the very least we can do for our QB who's done nothing but bring us fans some of the best, most exciting and rewarding football we've ever been treated to,is respect the man enough to stop speculating about who's mad at who, stop fueling the fires, and stop imposing our standards on a situation we really know nothing about. We turn into the media.
Enough already. :woohoo:
Rant Over,thank you.

By negative, do you mean..................

Getting a woman pregnant during a commited relationship, only to have that relationship end prior to that child graduating from college (or in this case even being born).

Ummm, yeah...... like thats a real original sin  , it probably only happens a few million times every year. I'm quite certain the NFL (or pro sport in general), it happens even more frequently. I don't see the issue, I really don't. He acknowledged it's his, said he's looking forward to doing "his part' for the child, and I'm sure he will. The end.

"Move along folks, nothing to see here at all" :D

I think it brings us back down to earth on the fact that the guy's human. Whether or not the pregnancy was intended or unintended, he makes mistakes.

I probably feel more badly for him now than I felt after any of his losses. The poor guy is getting raked over the coals.

Nope. She's been saying she wanted a baby . . . put 2 and 2 together . . . Brady likely got a bad read on the defense and threw a pick.

Why would anyones opinion of Brady change? Why would anyone think that Brigette is a bad person?

What did they do? He didn't leave her barefoot and pregnant in a trailer park. He will not be a dead beat dad.

I'm sure that she will be a caring and loving mother. The child will want for nothing. The child will have the benefit of two good and very close families.

1. Did Tom get picked up up for OUI?
2. Did Tom get arrested for abuse?
3. Did he test positive for drugs or steriods?

Anyone who says that their opinion of him has changed negitively, as a Patriots fan, needs help. Instead of getting involved in football maybe you should get invloved with Dr Phil, Oprah, and the Hollywood Insders type scene.

It would take an awful lot more than this to make me think any less of Brady, i just wanted to see what the consensus was here on the forums, though, this may be biased media. The results are, so far, quite positive in Brady's favor. And yes that was a point I made as well.. this baby will definitely want for nothing. The only 'problem' he/she will ever have is how to live up to his/her father's name. I know billions of people who would like that problem though. :D

imo.....Brady is the best player the Pats have ever had. It will be a sad day when he retires.

If it were DUI I would be pissed.

Steroids? Peeved. Very peeved.

Having a kid? Um. That's life people. Move on.

Yes,in negative way,he was a good person and now he's rebellious :( :(

In my eyes Tom Brady is now just another "Dumb Blonde". Is he a terrific football player ? Yes he is. Is he a role model for young kids? No he is not.
I no longer think he could figure out 2 + 2 = 4 even if you told him the answer is between 3 and 5.

Lets see what Tom couldn't figure out...

1) Bridgette is in her mid 30's.
2) Bridgette said she wanted to be married with kids.
3) Tom dates her for 3 years.
4) Tom takes her to his family.
5) Tom takes her to Patriots Superbowl ring ceremony.
6) Tom does not use or have proper sex protection.
7) Suprise, surprise Bridgette gets pregnant.
8) Tom immediately rushes out and starts dating a model.

No need for Tom to take some time off with the bimbos and reflect upon his actions and how to handle himself better in the future.

We get it. YOU HATE HIM. Let's hope Bob Kraft hates him enough to find another Quarterback that satisifes you.

Alright, but if they were in fact having protected sex. Would that change ur opinion? Cuz a lot of your Brady-hate'n seems to be on that assumption.

If you don't want kids or to be married; don't date woman in their mid 30's who have a biological clock ticking and who have said they want to be married with children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was Tom's college degree in FOOTBALL?

The poll asks our opinion of him before and after this situation. Before, I thought Tom was a role model for kids and a class act above today's dumb spoiled professional athelete. After, I realize my assessment of Tom was wrong. He is dumb.
