We already knew it was between Miami and St. Louis and reportedly he was leaning towards the rams, but I heard Schefter on espn radio today and he now thinks Miami has the edge and if he had to choose, he would guess Miami.

So if it goes down, how do you guys feel about Fisher in Miami, can he turn them around?

Is Fisher an elite coach or just a big name?

I think Fisher is a really good coach. Obviously there was a major disconnect between he, the Titans' owner and Vince Young. But he had that team playing competitively almost every year.

I hope he goes to the Rams and would prefer him to not be in our division. I think Miami showed signs of being a very competitive team this year, and under the right direction, they could absolutely prove a threat.

Pats will have to prepare for a dirty team twice a year

My thoughts exactly. I was hoping he was going to St. Louis. He seems like a good coach, but for the fact that there is the perception that he teaches his players to play dirty. Didn't Tedy Bruschi get really upset that he was cheering a Rodney Harrison injury on the sidelines? Hopefully he goes elsewhere.

Ha, that was exactly the same thing that first came to my mind when I saw the title to this thread.

Fisher would fit best in Oakland.......Don't be surprised if the Raiders don't suddenly jump in and snatch Fisher

If Fisher wants to go to a team on the verge of becoming a playoff team..it's Oakland.

I can't believe this guy is 'sought' after. He has a horrible record, if he goes to Miami I see mediocrity in the Phins future!

All the power went to the new GM from GB. No way Fisher goes to the Rams. The Colts fans are still under the impression the delay was for Irsay to name a GM... He did today and it was the Iggles Director of Player Personnel under Roseman. Doesn't sound like a fit for Jeffie. Or Peyton, or most of their defensive personnel...

Fisher is kind of another figment of the media's imagination HC IMO, like Reid. Floyd could tell some tails about Jeff... His wife actually has. Fisher probably wouldn't have done any better had Young not been foisted on him. He wanted Leinart...to team up with Chow as his OC.

Yep, he has a dirty streak, and so did his Titans. Think Courtland Finnegan.

Fisher: 1 super bowl appearance in 17 seasons. Winning Percentage: .542
Style:Mike Ditka school of coaching-> Defense focused, run heavy.

History tells me Miami is going to be a perennial .500 team in the coming seasons.

But then again, that dirty style might be hazardous to the players on teams that play them. Especially to those that play them twice a season :bricks:

Reports now are that he's headed to Miami instead of Rams, per Michael Lombardi.

With the quarterbacks he has had, averaging 9 wins a season over 17 years is pretty damn far from "horrible".

Interesting choice by Fisher. Will be very interesting to see what they do at QB...

Good for Miami. That is a franchise with a terrific history that deserves better. The Miami - Patriots rivalry once meant a lot and it would be nice for the Fins to retake the challenger's role from the Jets. We could all dust off our Squish the Fish gear. I hope he brings an A game to AFC East. It's been a long time since a proven head coach was in the division to challenge Belichick. Sorry to diss Chan Galey, but he's not of the caliber of Fisher and Rex Ryan is in over his head as a head coach.

Don't you agree that a lot of that blame should come from Bud Adams who never allowed Jeff Fisher to put together an ultra-competitive roster? I mean he gets this knock for only have 6 winning seasons in 15 years, but 5 of those non-winning seasons were 8-8 years with really mediocre talent. I remember personally picking them to go 4-12 or 5-11 on an anual basis yet they were always in the hunt right till the end.

I think he provides stability which is something this franchise desperately needs. It comes down to the same thing it comes down to with every other new regime. If he finds a quarterback, he and the Dolphins will have a lot of success together. If not, we'll be searching in another 3-5 years.

When the gap started getting really large between the Phins and Pats in the middle of last decade, that's when the rivalry started dying for me. Of course the Pats are still my second most hated team, but it's more a hate out of respect than anything. You can't help but marvel at what Belichick and Brady have done.

That hate was shifted to a lowly team that hasn't won jack in decades and talks like they're winning Lombardi's every couple of years. It'd be nice to leap frog them and get back to being that wildcard/contending for the AFC East team.

By the way, I think taht happens in 2012. I think the Jets are spiraling downward while the Dolphins were 6-3 to finish the season and were in each of those three loses with pretty decent teams.
