I had a PC I used as a DVR, but I got sick of the bugs in the program I used so I got a DVR from my Cable company. So now I have a spare PC, anyone have any suggestions on what I should do with it?

Some things I can think of
    --------------------------------
    - Cluster it with my current computer.
    - Set up Linux on it so I can learn to use Linux.
    - Set up Vista on it so I can see if it really does blow.
    - Rip the Hard Drive out of it and put it in my current computer.
    - Make a Flight Simulator only system out of it. (I'm a flight sim nut)

if anyone have any suggestions or comments about the options I listed they'd be appreciated.

I would put the Hard Drive in your current computer.

How about selling it on ebay as a DVR?

I have an old PC that I was using for the same purpose, except it's only in standard def. I might upgrade it to HD, or maybe just put it in the basement in my workshop.

Wipe the drive, don't install any OS to it, and donate it to a local school. The school can get whatever OS they need from Microsoft for free (MS does this for comps donated to schools).

The school gets a very useful tool, and you get a nice tax credit.

I live in Canada tho, I don't know if the tax credit would be the same.

Well ... What are the specs? CPU, RAM, Video Card, etc?

If you're not sure, download Belarc Advisor (just Google it), and run that. It will give a detailed report (if you post the report or attach it, be sure to clear the part with the serial keys for your software).

I would turn it into an MP3 / Movie server. Share your iTunes library over a network and save space on your other computers.
