Today we went down to Shedds Aquarium in downtown Chicago. I hadn't been there before and did not know it sat right next to Soldier's field. The setting is very aesthetic with a number of old time columned museums overlooking Lake Michigan. When I saw Soldiers Field I was overwhelmed with confusion, whether to laugh or vomit. They took this majestic Colosseum with its trademark columns and placed a glass flying saucer in the middle. Picture Fenway Park with Spielberg's Close Encounters saucer attached to the top.
I had read where they took away its national landmark status, and rightfully so. You guys have got to click on this site and scroll down for a look!
