It's hard to believe the exchange between Payton and Mike Bell about the cleats. This is the Super Bowl, kid. Who do you think you are, Thurman Thomas?

As for Payton, he seemed oddly unaware and out of it until he called the fourth down play at the end of the first half.

Had no clue how Freeney sacked Brees, if Freeney was in the game, made obvious comments to Colston about a drop.

Then suddenly he was locked in for the second half. I think Payton was really nervous at first.
