OT: Santonio Holmes escorted off plane at Pitt Airport Thursday

I hope he didn't have a glass handy...

Here's to hoping that he was loaded and either physically or verbally assaulted a hostess or somebody that works for the airline. :eat1:

Jet fans are already spinning this as Pittsburgh hate directed at the poor innocent iddle widdle Sansbraincellio

He was probably complaining about having to sit next to all of Cromartie's kids.

I can't think of a better reason to use an iPod than being near kids on a plane. :D

For all those who wanted to sign/trade for Santonio, Cromartie, Brandon Marshall, Pacman Jones, et. al., this is what happens when you sell your soul. The Jets deserve everything that happens to them.

In defense of my Homes, it's not like he tried to set his underwear on fire

He refused to turn off his iPod. BFD. He wasn't arrested, and he was immediately let back on the plane.

Oh yeah, nothing wrong with that.
Solid guy. Gets instructed, like everyone else on the plane, that its time to turn off the IPod and he tells the flgiht attendant to f-off. Quality guy.
I can't imagine you will have any problems with this guy, seems like a real disciplined guy who doesn't feel he has an entitlement to act however he wants at all.
No, on second thought, this is good news for the Jets isnt it.

Let back on the plane? Try to understand what you read. The plane had landed in NJ when he was escorted off the plane for refusing to turn off all elcectronics prior to landing.

But yeah, I see your point. With the team you have, getting escorted off the plane by security isn't a big deal at all. As long as he wasn't actually arrested, for a Jet it is model citizenry.

So did you size explosive players?

Or implosive.

Prepare to implode, dude.

... reminds me of the best NY Post headline ever: 'GREAT BALLS OF FIRE.'

Can't wait for the instant, unambiguous response from NYJ management. Great points in this thread about the types of people these players are. Somehow it flies under the radar when Rex's Reprobates or other teams add another person of questionable character; imagine if the Pats took on some of these guys? There'd be all sorts of "win at any cost" spinning. Honestly, if Holmes had been traded by the Pats instead of the Steelers, to the Jets or any other team, the headline would be "Ex-Patriot Holmes in iPod flap on airplane."

BFD? right. Listen there are reasons for the rules. Navigation and
communication are very important. A disruption in communications
even in the slightest at the wrong time could mean the lives of
hundreds of people. Think about it. There are big reasons for these rules.
Holmes apparently has a problem with rules and inflated sense of who he is. He should get a penalty from the NFL so he really reflects on what he
did.

While I agree with the idea, the rules are ridiculous. An iPod isn't broadcasting anything.

Still, Santonio is a douche.

I think the fact that he got thrown off for just refusing to turn off his IPOD makes him look an even bigger db@g than he would have if it had been for something more serious.

Shut off your f'ing IPOD! Everyone else has to. You're not better then the rest of us. What a joke. This guy doesn't deserve to be in the NFL.

the 5th round pick that the steelers got for him actually looks like a steal

Maybe not.

But he deserves to be on the Jets, and vice versa.

Good luck trying to get this guy to pay attention during meetings.

All electronic eqpt inadvertently broadcasts at various unintended frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum. Yup, even a FCC Class B device. While an iPod most likely poses not a scintilla of risk to the ****pit electronics via interference, airlines can't have flight attendants dealing with various electronic eqpt on a case by case basis. Hence the "No operation of personal electronice rule" on takeoffs and landings, critical times.

The good news is that as time goes on you may be allowed to operate stuff as ****pit electronics susceptability is better understood.

Yeah, they escort at least 10 passengers off the plane every flight I have been on. Sorry, it isn't a huge deal, but the league might think it is a significant enough deal especially if he was found to be beligerant because he was drunk (just throwing out the worst case scenario). I have been on plenty of flights and I have personally never seen anyone escorted off the plane because of any disciplinary reasons. It seems like Holmes was being an arse.

Not true. All electonics broadcast. Whether or not it is on the right frequencies and strong enough to affect anything has not been proven or disproven, but when planes went to digital controls (vice analog) it was deemed important not to have electronics powered on during critical phases (takeoffs and landings).

I love the automatic censor.

In the ****pit, the pilot was wi(Please be quiet - edited)l.
