what does it say now when it works ? That sean payton had no confidence in his defense ? where is peter king ? i though it was HUGE call and couldve end the saints game but sometimes you have to take chances to win and i applaud a BB like play

Unbelievable moment. I don't think the Saints win without that call. Payton deserves a ton of credit for that.

    Re: Saints iinside kick

    Another ballsy moment:

Huge Play in the game was the timeout the Saints took on 2nd and short for the Colts at the end of the first half.

    HUGE.

Lots of guts to give Manning a shot with a minute left to go.

That was worth 3 points right there.

    Re: Saints iinside kick

i get what you are saying but payton. is a offensive. coach and he wants he's guys on the field.

BB is a defensive. coach. so that tells me he has even less faith in him self to come up with a game plan to stop manning.

    Re: Saints iinside kick

BB is a head coach and he trusts brady and moss and faulk are his best players not wilhite and company so he thought the same thing in my opinion.
If the colts had gotten the ball, payton wounldnt have been killed because tthe media hates BB but wouldve questioned it.
by the way bb the defensive coach also asked his QB to win the game with no timeouts in SB 36 instead of playing for overtime.

It takes big balls and brains (or the fix in with the refs) to become a Superbowl Champion HC in this league. Something most message board posters and mediots are sorely lacking.

Sean Payton must carry his balls in a wheelbarrow. That call was insane.

I'll repeat something I said somewhere else.

You know what it takes to win the Super Bowl? It takes brass balls to win the Super Bowl.

And the call right before was the 4th and goal.

Loved both calls. And very glad to see he was rewarded for it.

    Re: Saints iinside kick

I'm still waiting for all the talking heads that called the 4th-n-2 call insane and definitively said they would say the same thing regardless of the outcome (yep, looking at you Dilfer). This call was far more risky and going down by 11 before your team has even seen the end zone, that could have been the difference.

The play wasn't even executed that well. If Hank Baskett doesn't try to head the ball down the field (must be a Manchester United fan), the ball probably skips out of bounds.

I thought it was a brilliant move and it caught the Colts by suprise. Its the kind of thing Bill would do. ;)

    Re: Saints iinside kick

great moment, i know they said at the game it was the first onside kick prior to the 4th qtr in a SB, but i am sure that the fins did it against the skins back in '83, and i believe it was at the start of the second half . . .

Helluva call, keeps the ball out of Manning's hand but it was the turning point in the game.
