Italy deserved to win again. The pack looks pretty impressive. There was controversy at the end, but it shouldn't take away from a good Italian win.

I don't follow rugby at all; but I do support Italia in any way... Italy all the way!

A chance, yes, but a much smaller one than with Wales. Ireland will be missing one of their most important players, Paul O'Connell, but Italy will almost certainly be without Mauro Bergamasco who will be suspended for his punch on Stephen Jones.

This has already been a fantastic season of progress for Italy but I fear Ireland will be a bridge too far.

Are you from a rugby area of Italy Pat? I know the game is quite strong in the north in places like Parma and Treviso.

The best at the moment is New Zealand.

Spain has participated in the Rugby World Cup on at least one occasion, and had at least one memorable game.

...and it can be argued that the second best team in the world is their second team. :(

It was a great result on Sunday, wasn't it? I was pleasantly surprised, especially with the forwards.

It was very encouraging. The French were poor, but our pack was much more coherent and powerful, and the team played with ambition and edge. A good start, but there's a long way to go.

    How's the blog going?

I've been to southern Italy 30 times in my 32 years of existence, and the word Rugby, nevermind the sport, has never been mentioned by any of my friends. As most non-soccer related sports in Italy go, they all tend to be northern Italian. I think Tennis is the only sport outside of soccer that I've seen played in my area, Avellino. There is one basketball court withing 10 miles of my families towns, and I played on it once. When I brought a whiffle bat and ball one year, they tried and passed. The following summer when I went to look for the bat, it was holding up a tomato plant in the garden. :D

Forza Italia! Forza Azzurri! Campione Del'Mondo!

It's very true that there is a long way to go. It would be good to see this side peak somewhere around 2010. I was particularly impressed by Tom Rees, as much as I can be as a non-playing observer of the game (I am a chicken when it comes to contact, I have to admit).

I only have two entries so far on my blog. I need to keep writing and see what comes out. I'm tempted to do one serious blog and one silly one. We'll see. One suspects that agents won't be knocking at my door just yet....

I was going to write "Boo! Hiss!". Then I remembered that the Italians beat the French. Bravo! :D

I've seen quite a bit of Rees so I wasn't surprised to see him play so well. He can only get better too, which is encouraging. Big game on Saturday. A win there would be a huge fillip.

Italy lost in Rome against Ireland

we playied very well half game but then we lost against IE but Italy surely is now a good team in the 6 Nations-no doubt (after the 2 wins against Scotland and Wales)

    Forza Azzurri !
