Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Wow. Someone needs some meds...

Richard Seymour's Raiders: From 'playoffs' to schoolboy also-rans - The Huddle: Football News from the NFL - USATODAY.com

Last week, Richard Seymour had the Raiders flying to the playoffs.

This week, he's a little less enthusiastic about his 2-5 team' place in the NFL hierarchy.

The Raiders lost 38-0 to the Jets on Sunday. Afterward, Seymour had this to say about the team that last week he guaranteed would be in the NFL playoffs:
"I don't think we could've beat an Oakland high school team today."

Seymour elaborated and said since the Raiders fell into such a deep hole early (24-0 at halftime), they weren't prepared to mount a comeback. The Raiders have scored just 62 points, second-fewest in the league.

"Playing from behind isn't our strong suit," Seymour said.

Blast - how do I change that "o" ?
Hit EDIT then GO ADVANCED and you can change the subject.

Re: Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Eh.

The raider's defense isn't the problem in oakland.

Re: Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Well he has a point. That's a Jets team that just lost 3 and a row and got beat by a weak Bills team the week before...at home too! Then they come into Oakland and beat them by 38 points.

They're not a playoff team at all. Not even close. They got lucky that Andy Reid couldn't coach his way out of a paper back at this point.

Re: Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Well he changed his tune :)

Re: Richard Seymour: Raiders couldn't beat a high school team

Very Bipolar behaviour. Apparently Richard is an emotional guy, blowing with the winds of the week.

Ouch... true, but ouch...

they could still beat the rams and the redskins though

That's his wallet talking ... having a bad attitude is expensive.

Re: Seymour says the raiders can't beat a High School team....

Maybe he always meant they were going to the high school playoffs?

Re: Seymour says the raiders can't beat a High School team....

This is already in the NFL forum... and I agree with him. Only, he didn't say it in the sense that the Faiders couldn't beat a high school team any day of the week. He said that they couldn't beat an Oakland high school team this past Sunday.

Re: Seymour says the raiders can't beat a High School team....

hmmmm..............is seymour headed back to new england?
lol kidding........... he has made two very very contradictory statements in two weeks
maybe he is frustrated with JaMarcus Russell

Re: Seymour says the raiders can't beat a High School team....

i guess then when he talked about the playoffs he was referring to the pee wee level?

Re: Seymour says the raiders can't beat a High School team....

How can you win when your coach is Larry the Cable Guy?

You have to wonder why he is opening his mouth. How much cred does he think he has with his new team ? Not much of a boost to a team that just traded dearly for him. Loser.

And the owner is Al "Crazy" Davis.....
