Interesting dilemma for Denver. Let's suppose Osweiler continues to play well and proves to be a great fit for Kubiak's offense. What do the Broncos do? I suspect they've been planning to put the tag on Von Miller, who is also a UFA after this season. Miller will command an enormous salary, and I think if he hits the FA market, you could see a Suh type of deal.

Would the Broncos put the tag on Osweiler instead, for the tune of $20M? And if he did hit the free agency market, what kind of deal is out there for him? Guys like Matt Flynn have set the bar pretty high for a QB with little playing time who was successful with a good team.

Broncos suddenly have a contracts problem for 2016

The answer is simple: they will circumvent the salary cap.
They've always been good at that. Their motto is the cap is crap.

Circumventing the salary cap, putting Vaseline on jerseys. Who knows how else the Broncos* cheated during those SB years. Both of their titles are tainted.

Brett Favre could have repeated, did they cheat? Yes and we don't have to wonder because Shanny told us they did.

Also, a Denver* Olineman stated that creative circumvention of the rules was applauded in their locker room.

0 SBs since they were caught cheating.

20 Mi? Too early. Unless he goes and win the SB.

The Matt Flynn example actually gives teams more leverage right now, because he was a tremendous bust outside of GB.

That assumes all GMs/coaches are rational actors. Job insecurity basically guarantees many aren't.

You're right but it could get tricky for them. They need to re-sign him, there's a ton of teams needing a QB and all it takes is one. If he keeps playing well there could be a line waiting for him, let alone one.

Brock is getting paid ... good for him.
