OT: Mort says Cowboys and Dolphins working on trade for #1 (Merged)

This story is total nonsense. Mort and Parcells did a radio show on ESPN before Parcells took the Miami gig. Parcells is looking to drum up interest for the #1 pick. Right now, there is none. So you get your buddy Mort to do you a favor, you leak to the media that "someone" wants to trade up. Matt Millen used to do this all the time using the Patriots name. Remember how the Pats were going to trade 2 #1 picks for Sean Taylor in '04? It gets the pot stirring, let's everyone know you're open for business and willing to take less than market value, and also allows Miami to float the idea to Dallas and see if they'll bite. There's no way JJones will do this. First of all, he knows Parcells would never take McFadden at #1, because Parcells has stated on TV he would never take a rb that high. And JJones knows no other team is going to trade up for McFadden. So if he really wanted him he would just trade with whoever is picking #2. This story is total hogwash.

IMO What Parcells really wants is to get an additional #1 pick and trade a late#1 and #3 for QB Derek Anderson, if /when the Browns tender him, assuming Anderson and the Browns don't strike a deal first.

Barring that IMO Parcells will draft QB Matt Ryan.

Never a chance to happen. It supposes Dallas would like to get DMAC. But Jonathan Stewart and Mendenhall are great RB prospect as well. Their game could even translate to NFL better than DMAC....

Little hint of collusion to - Tuna was allowed to pillage the staff in return for what Jerry apparently thinks passes for quid pro quo.

Wow, Tuna got Jones thinking his $h!t don't stink! What a freaking genius move. and they get barber too??? WTF is wrong with Jones, anyway? It's bad enough the Pillsbury dough boy is their head coach, and they let all the coaches leave, but now they are giving away their MVP. And anyone who says it was ROMO over Barber probably hasn't watched too many cowboys games.

If Barber were a Pat would not want to part with him, he is a nasty runner, who deals out a lot of punishment.. with him and Jones it is one of the better one two combinations at RB and both are young. Never can understand the philosophy of giving away a sure thing, and taking a risk on an unproven commodity. I think it is BS or a smokescreen.
