Cardinals' Leinart to Become a Father

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron will miss the upcoming season because she is expecting a baby with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, according to her father.

Cameron is due to deliver a boy in November, Stan Cameron told the Ventura County Star for Wednesday's editions.

Cameron, a 20-year-old junior guard, and Leinart dated while he attended USC. He graduated in December and was drafted by the Cardinals in April.

Asked Wednesday about Cameron, Leinart said, "I'm not going to comment."

...

Ron Mexico anyone? :D

Well there's a big opps for him. Good thing he signed his deal so he can start paying child support.

goodbye to 25% of that new contract (aftertax)

Geez that was fast. Wasn't he just dating Paris Hilton? Someone should introduce that young man to condoms.

:rocker:

Absolutely my favorite post on this board ever.

I'll co-sign that. Patschick gets my vote for post of the year, too. What can you say, but "true dat".

I guess playing for the Trojans, he should have worn something other than his jersey!

Um... congrats, Matty! :p

THIS SEASON
Brynn Cameron has been working nonstop to make a comeback from a second hip surgery and is locked and loaded for a return as USC's formidable perimeter threat who already stands as the Trojans' No. 6 all-time 3-point shooter with 91 career threes entering her junior year.
2005-06 SOPHOMORE SEASON
Cameron's sophomore season was affected by a nagging hip injury that eventually shortened her year in order to endure a second surgery at the end of the season... Appeared in 13 games for USC, hitting 19 threes in that span to average 5.5 points per game... Moved up to rank No. 6 all-time in career 3-pointers with 91... Nailed a career-high six 3-pointers on Dec. 6 against Oregon State, including three straight in a second-half comeback rally... Those six threes tied her own school record for 3-pointers in a single game and helped her match her career high of 20 points... Hip pain kept the sophomore playing limited minutes for the next stretch of Pac-10 play, and Cameron finally had to be sidelined for the season and another surgery.
2004-05 FRESHMAN SEASON
Cameron established herself as a go-to outside shooter in her first year at USC, emerging as the top scorer for the Women of Troy with 9.8 points per game -- 19th best in the Pac-10... Ranked No. 25 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (.409) and second in the Pac-10 in three-pointers made (72)... That mark eclipsed the USC single-season record for three-pointers made and was the ninth best total all-time in the Pac-10... Named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team and awarded All-Pac-10 honorable mention... Shot 42.1 percent from the field and averaged 2.7 rebounds per game... Started 26 out of 31 games... Scored in double figures 14 times... Top USC scorer in nine games... Made her first collegiate start in USC's opener vs. Massachusetts, scoring nine points, nabbing two steals and shooting 40 percent from the floor... Top scoring performance came on Dec. 11 with 20 points against South Dakota State... Had her first career double-double in USC's 80-77 win over UCLA with 17 points and a season-high 10 rebounds on Feb. 20... Nailed a long three-pointer to tie the game 59-59 with 21.7 seconds left in USC's 61-59 loss to Michigan State in the NCAA second round on March 21.
HIGH SCHOOL
Cameron is a 2004 graduate of Newbury Park (Calif.) High... A four-year basketball letterwinner at guard/forward, and three-year volleyball letterwinner at outside hitter... Accounted for 1,754 points (school record for both boys and girls) and 632 rebounds in her prep career... Averaged 23.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.5 assists per game as a senior... Scoring average ranked 10th in CIF Southern Section ... Also averaged 45.5 percent shooting from the field, 38.9 from three-point range and 73.9 at the line... Honored as a 2004 Adidas/EA Sports Superstar (top 24 senior preps)... A McDonald's All-American nominee, she was selected to the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame.. Named the 2004 CIF Division 3A Player of the Year, Ventura County Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year, Ventura County Star Player of the Year, Los Angeles Times Ventura/North Coast Player of the Year and Marmonte League MVP (an honor she also received in 2002 and 2003)... A three-time (2002, 2003, 2004) All-CIF Southern Section first team pick (also named to second team in 2001), Los Angeles Times Ventura/North Coast all-region selection and Los Angeles Daily News all-area selection... Also earned conference MVP and All-CIF Southern Section first team honors in volleyball as a senior... Played AAU basketball with the Santa Barbara Storm, California Elite, West Coast Waves and Utah Avalanche. PERSONAL
Brynn Elaine Cameron was born on July 8, 1986, in Van Nuys, Calif. ... The daughter of Stan and Cathy Cameron, she has one sister, Emily, and two brothers, Jordan and Colby... Her grandfather, Jack Cravens, played collegiate basketball and baseball (1957-59) at BYU... Lists her grandfather as her biggest sports hero... Her cousin, Mary Cravens, graduated from USC in 2001... She is undecided on her major but lists her career goal as wanting to one day make a difference.

Two hip surgeries already in her life. That's gotta hurt.
