We all know how valuable a 6th round pick can be PATSYLICIOUS.If it's a 6th rounder or less I'd say it's a solid move. What do you got to lose by giving up a 6th, low risk high reward.

The Jets got tooled?
We'll try supa but other teams have started taking Patriots castoffs on waivers now. I have it on good authority that it's widely anticipated amongst 31 other GM's as a talent hot bed.Speaking of 6th rd picks, who wants to bet that the front office will at least explore the idea of trading someone away this yr who will get cut in TC to try and recoup that 6th round catastrophe?
Depending upon the specific player (and we all have our ideas), they probably won't be successful in their attempt, but the old college try may very well be in full effect about a month from now.

Are there no objective Pats fans on this board?
....Are there no objective Pats fans on this board?...
What's so crazy about that?
I personally love the trade, but it would be completely ******ed to ignore Otah's health issues.
The guy has missed 30+ games in the last two years.
I view this move in the same light as the Landry signing.
When healthy, he's a damn good player that can make a significant difference.
Problem is, when is he healthy?
Nah, I don't blame the NYJ in the least for their move. Although Otah has been lazy and has underperformed, a change of scenery can sometimes bring more out of a player--maybe now he's just 1/2 as lazy, 1/2 as injured, and 1/2 as much of an underachiever.
Considering what they had at RT, I like the move from an unbiased standpoint.
The vast majority of us are, yes. Problem is, you wouldn't know objectivity if it hit you head-on and left tread marks on your forehead. Abandoning the concept is an inherent coping mechanism of every Green Beans fan.

Are all Pats fans as bright as you?
The move is about as low risk/high reward you can get. The Jets gave up nothing for him, are going for a player where they don't don't have to make a major investment, both from a cap standpoint, and draft compensation, and are either hoping or relying possibly on some intel that Otah could be a player that needs a change of scenery. If he's healthy, the Jets got a top 5 RT for nothing, if not, they move on to the next option and pay nothing.

If the Pats make this move, you all would be singing the praises of the Pats front office for being geniuses and having the foresight to try and catch lightning in a bottle?
I find it interesting to note that you ask about this board's objectivity and then go back to JI in an attempt to embarrass Rob, and your own board's first response to you is a smack down:
Nice job, Ray Ray. :singing:
...Let's make it simple for you - for a 7th rounder wouldn't you have much rather had Louis Murphy? Warning: answering "no" here will void any further discussion about being "objective."

To be fair to Ray Ray, I'd choose Otah over Murphy, too, if I were the Jets GM. That team needs to keep Sanchez clean, or he'll start wetting himself again. If Otah can play healthy, and that's admittedly not been his strong suit of late, that would shore up the right side of the O-line, and that's more important than a guy who should be the team's WR3 or WR4 and is coming off of a very disappointing 15 catch season.
...the noisy lion?
Who?
Should be mentioned that Otah is in his contract year, so he is playing for a contract, make or brake year for the guy, if he fails with the Jet he wont get many other offers.
So he should be motivated to stay on the field.
Same could be said for Albert Haynesworth, no?
