In the Jets 20-23 loss to the Washington Redskins, LB David Harris had a game high 20 solo tackles, and added 4 assisted tackles.

This is interesting considering the rumors that NE was going to select him with the 28th overall selection of the 2007 NFL draft, had they not traded the pick. I'm sure glad the Patriots got the 49ers likely top 5-10 first round pick in 2008, and Randy Moss (via subsequent trade) in place of him though :)

Well good news is ...hes TACKLING. which we arent. Bad news..might not be his fault but the tackles were downfield..Portis ran all over them. Cant really play him..same reason Vilma "doesnt fit"..because the people in front of him let the RB go full speed past them and then its 5 yards downfield before u know it and Harris is forced to make the tackle

if u ask Harris..he wouldnt be happy with the stats..any LB would rather get less tackles and limit the RB than get 20+ tackles while having RB get nearly 200 yards..alone

Least flaterring stat in the world? Making a lot of tackles while your team is getting chewed up on the ground.
Back in 2002 when we lost to SD, and they ran all over us, there was an article about how Ted Johnson WAS BACK (Bruschi was injured) because he made something like 14 tackles. Another writer went back and charted his tackles and found out the average run that he made a tackle on was after 8 yards gained. In other words they were running right at him, blowing him off the ball, and he recovered after 8 yards to make the tackle.
