    Well, what say you.

I think it annoyed Flacco, maybe he needs that but apparently the route running and play calling on that team is rather bland. Some are saying two routes, the 9 and I forget the other are two of Baltimore's favorites.

Either way what is up with the comments. People shower praise on Reed like he is the second coming. His play obviously speaks for itself. Why does he feel the need to start running his mouth on Championship week after Flacco had a 'bad' game (2td's - 0 picks). I mean how many of those plays would he have seen?

I like how it shook out personally, I hope they keep calling each out in public. But come on.

    Bad timing and poor message...

This could be motivation for Flacco but I don';t think it will be. You can tell what his mentality is like, and it's the same as his head coach's. He whines. He moaned at the Press for his criticism when the best QBs and leaders brush it aside and ignore it.

Before Reed's comments even came out, last week he was asked something about his critics and he said 'I could be holding the Lombardi with a ring on my finger and you guys still wouldn't say any different'. Those are the words of a riled QB...he's letting things out of camp get to him. Do you see Brady, both Mannings, Big Ben, Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers respond to criticism publicly by the media? Of course not!

For a mentally tough QB this would have been a good move. I'm not so sure Flacco is mentally tough enough to take the criticism. We will see though...he could prove me wrong.

Ed Reed has been around a long time. I think he knew what he was doing, and that is lighting a fire on Joe's butt.

Spin it any way you want. If this is what a professional QB needs to get him motivated in the biggest game of his life then that's pretty weak in my book and a sign of bigger problems, but whatever floats your boat.

Never said he needed it to get him motivated, just that it might help him get more motivated. Ed Reed is not a dumb guy and is not looking to start drama.

I disagree, coming into this game Brady had all the pressure on him, now Flacco has these comments to deal with and the whole country is talking about it and waiting to see how Flacco responds and he knows it. Nothing I've seen from Flacco has made me think that this helps him, I think it is just building more pressure for him, which is exactly what he doesn't need. The first bad pass or turnover is going to have him doubting himself. Confidence is a very important and fragile thing in the NFL.

I agree completely. Ed may see this as actually helping Joe play better.

    Complete smoke and mirrors.

I don't buy this at all.

Ray Lewis tweeted yesterday that it is not an issue.

I actually listened to the interview while it was happening on sirius on Monday. I was in the car and had it on. I remember thinking, "this is going to get blown up."

But when you listen to it in context, it seemed different from what it looks like on paper. My perception was Ed went into the interview thinking the right way to be was to suggest that everyone was going to need to play well to beat the Patriots. When he got asked specific questions about Flacco, he answered them with that in mind, and the interviewer (Kirwin, maybe?) was pretty good at following up.

I think some of this is that Belichick has set the standard for how to give credit to the opponent before the game. I think other teams try to copy this, including when playing the Patriots. The problem is that other teams just aren't very good at it.

But I think if you were to get the most honest answer from Reed possible, he'd say his intention was to talk about how hard it is to play the Patriots, not to blast his QB, even though it sounded like that.

My first reaction was that Ed Reed had lost his mind. But like you I was able to calm down

Really, it was more of a dig at our OC than anything...
either way, not a big deal.

What I cant stand is the less than knowledgeable fans out there who claim Flacco is a whiner. If they had seen the interview where he said that "I could win a Lombardi and you guys would still not give me credit", you would have seen everyone was laughing about it, and was spoken as a joke.

How many things has BB said that you just know is complete BS? Ray Lewis has an agenda, and it's not to inform you or any other fan of the Truth.

I coached with a guy for a high school who played with Flacco. He said that Flacco is a little baby. He doesnt take criticism well and he feels he is entitled because he is a QB. So this is good news for us patriot fans. Flacco will buckle under the pressure!
