wiggins! Third String But Playing on Special Teams

From pre-game.com (for what it's worth - figured something different might help the week!)

Las Vegas, Nevada (November 18, 2009) – exclusive from Pregame.com:

How many remaining games will the teams be favored?
Colts: projected to be favored in EVERY GAME!
Saints: projected to be favored in EVERY GAME!

    Odds of going undefeated:
    Colts: 11 to 1 against (8% chance)
    Saints: 11 to 1 against (8% chance)

It’s noteworthy that most people tend to guess that the chances are much greater.

Amazingly, both team’s odds are nearly identical – creating an interesting question for discussion: "Which team, Saints or Colts, do you think has the better chance of going undefeated?"

Odds of AT LEAST ONE of the teams going undefeated?
    5.5 to 1 against (15% chance)

Odds of BOTH teams going undefeated?
    150-1 against

Formula note: By calculating the percentage chance of the Colts and Saints winning each of their remaining games, RJ Bell of Pregame.com has projected the exact odds of either team finishing the season undefeated. Note that these projections are not guesses, but rather calculations based upon projected point spreads.

the colts still have to play the ravens a houston team that all most beat them the year

a hot team in the titans

and the jets who have the runing game and the D to beat them

the saints only have the cowboys and pats and if they can beat the pats i say they go 16-0

The Colts won't go unbeaten. New Orleans on the other hand could, but I doubt they will after the jailbreaks of the past few weeks.

one of the big factors in the pats 16-0 season was BB willing to play his starters. Will caldwell and payton be comfortable risking their QB's ? We all know not many people have the guts like BB...

This would mean that Pats would lose to the Saints in two weeks, but would there be a more vindicating script to write than the Pats beating the 17-0 Colts in the AFC Championship Game and then beating the 18-0 Saints in the Super Bowl?

I don't know about vindication... but damn that would be fun!

For what is worth, I want both to lose one game, and we had a chance to beat the colts did not, and if the saints beat us, I guess the record that we enjoyed 2 years ago is gone... I know that record means squat because the SB gaffe... But it still means something to me..

I don't see either team going unbeaten, Colts have shown the last few weeks they are beatable. 49ers went into Indy and nearly beat the Colts, Pats went into Indy and should of won. When Indy play a tough team on the road that is where they will lose it. As for the Saints, that probably ends when they face the Pats, their defense isn't the same as it wsa at the beginning of the season and they've lost Tracy Porter for the rest of the season.

Get back to me when the teams are 13-0, then I'll discuss chances of going unbeaten. I remember about 10 years ago the Broncos were supposedly going to go unbeaten then they lost on the road to a far inferior NY Giants team.

This has sorta been on my mind as a long-shot at best since about week 7. Though with the Pats no longer in the way it looks more do-able. Denver's on a 3-game losing streak (including the Redskins) and it seems people now have the game-tape to figure out McD. Ravens are without Suggs courtesy of the lesser Brady, so they'll need to blitz like mad-men to hide their secondary. We're also like 6-0 on them since '01. If we're undefeated, I doubt Caldwell would rest guys.

As for the close calls against the 49ers/Houston, sometimes average teams give you their best. The closest call the Pats had in '07 was imo the Ravens game, who were a losing team at the time, ended 5-11 or something, but made the Pats game their super bowl and came pretty darn close to pulling it off.

Between the domes, easy schedules and the officiating I fully expect at least one if not both teams to go undefeated. The league has it out for the Pats I am convinced. They make it so much harder for this team to win close games. Brace yourselves for it. 16-0 X 2.
  14. The domes are far less of a home field advantage than Gillette, especially when it comes playoff time. Both teams can function as well in 72 degrees and no rain. If a team like NE is used to playing in the snow, it can be a huge advantage if playing a team like San Diego, Miami, Indy, etc that are either dome or warm weather teams.

But neither team is going 16-0 imo. Id say the Saints are going to get beat by either you guys or @ Altanta. The Colts are either going to lose either @ Baltimore, @ Houston, or @ Jacksonville.

I think we will beat the Saints in two weeks but that would be really awesome.
