In related news, Mangini put his team through a 3.5 hour practice in full pads. At this point, late in the season, this move makes absolutely no sense.

You don't turn down an offer like that unless you have something more challenging or more lucrative going on elsewhere...too much of a coincidence that he and the Browns have been linked to a similar role in all but title recently.

Mangini better start looking for boxes for his stuff because he won't be around after week 17 ends.

Maybe Holmgren will turn around and offer Mangini a job as a defensive assistant in a case of "what goes around comes around".

Just a face saving measure - they never wanted him in the first place.

Seems to me, his ego properly addressed, this all but assures that Holgrem is the new GM for Cleveland.

Mangini might as well pack his bags. Anyone with Holmgren's ego is going to bring in his OWN coach so that he can claim full credit to turning a team around.
