For every Malcolm Butler, there's a Brandon Bostick

I hear it all the time, it is just a game.... No it is not. Badminton is just a game.

A quick web search shows that even badminton gets wagered on. Strange world, this.

People like that should kill themselves and do the rest of us a favor.

Also, what about the integrity of the game. The "leader" of the NFL makes sure all the injury reports and point spreads are in place so all the sick gamblers can bet and do who knows what trying to influence the game. If the league really had any integrity they would do everything they could to squash illegal gambling, keep injury reports secret, disallow point spreads from being published etc.

Of course there is no integrity, that's the open secret. They'll end up with a big scandal one of these days with players fixing the injury report, refs throwing games etc.

I wonder how many would be suspended if Clueless Clouseau imposed the Paul Hornung standard for betting on games and associating with gamblers?
The injury reports are an attempt to suppress gambling corruption. AFAIK the NFL has nothing to do with point spreads.

The NFL attempts to do a lot of things.

For example, the league requires teams to state before games what players may have to sit out because of injury and what players are questionable. That information only benefits gamblers.

They can't even get this right. Somebody in the NFL knew somebody who knew somebody who gambles. So what? If there's evidence the NFL is fixing games then they should present it. The injury reports are meant to remove inside information. If only a handful of insiders know about a major injury that information becomes very valuable, and those with it have an advantage in gambling. Reporting it means injury information provides the same advantage as reading the stats on ESPN. It's an anti-gambling corruption rule. Vegas makes money off how many people bet, not who wins. It's to their advantage to keep the games corruption free. If an insider gets insider gambling info then Vegas can lose their ass.

You could say Milton Bradley is part of a seedy gambling underworld because people bet on dice. The NFL certainly cannot control people betting on games anymore than they can control them betting on cards. All they can do is make it so corruption is less likely by removing corruption opportunities. How is anyone going to fix a game? It could be done, but if your a good gambler you should just fix a boxing match, only have to pay one guy.

The injury report is so the house doesn't get any surprises and can set the point spread correctly. What other reason? You play or you don't, it's nobody's business the health of your players that are active.

That's why I'm glad BB messes with it occasionally. surprised he doesn't get rubbed out.

Or rather for every Malcolm Butler, there are 100 Brandon Bostick's.
