Could this be tied to the Vick case and this be just the 1st of many that get taken down because of Vick or his associates?

It has you thinking for sure if Vick had anything to do with this... He's agreed to be cooperative... Who knows?

Not yet, anyways. But it can very easily turn into one if Vick was the source of the tip.

Kind of a "Good Faith" gesture on his part to get a decent deal from the prosecutor.

But it bears watching because of what is going on with Vick. Especially since he is supposedly going to NARC on others in the dog fighting world.

If you've ever listened to his songs, it'd be pretty obvious to anyone that DMX was involved with dogs; involvement with dogfighting would be a logical conclusion.

The report tonight on the Dallas News was that the incidents are not related... However, they also said that the investigation was ongoing.

They seized 12 dogs and found 3 dead bodies of dogs. One of the dead had been burned.

Recently a caretaker at the home of actor Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) was either killed by pit bulls or eaten by pit bulls after he had suffered a heart attack.

No one has been arrested and I don't think anyone is filing charges, I'm just pointing out that there's been a lot of pit bull stories around lately.

I recall hearing a while ago that that sheriff wanted to talk to Vick about dog fighting in Phoenix. Also heard at the time he was something of an attention grabber. I doubt Vick had anything to do with this particular bust. More likely the sheriff felt the timing was right on the heels of Vick's plea. But there will likely be more busts related to this case. One of the breeding kennels named in frick and frack's statement of facts last week still had it's web site up last week with pictures of celebrity clients... One was a Bear and a couple of others were rappers I've never heard of (which isn't saying much...)...

Of course the real trick is not just giving the Feds names they can't really use, but incriminating evidence/testimony or tips on where and when to look. That will be tough because I imagine most of these guys, at least the other high rollers and hardcore kingpins, started covering their tracks months ago anticipating Vick might well turtle on anyone he could. Of course a lot of the fringe or hobby fighters are dumb ****s like DMX and #7 so there could yet be good evidence to be had just left lying around...

There were dog bites but the autopsy concluded his death could not have been caused by the dogs.

Since he was the dogs' caretaker the bites may have resulted from the dogs trying to rouse the man. He wasn't eaten by the dogs, where did you hear that?

Right, because he's a Black rapper...

Oh my God. They were not pit bulls, they were mastiffs. I know people think pit bulls were sent by Satan to eat small children, but believe it or not, it's not true. Oh, and the dogs didn't kill the guy. A brain aneurysm did. Eaten by dogs. What type of ridiculous hyperbole is that? A ten second Google news search gave me the information I got. You could at least do that before blatantly misleading people.

Um, no, because every song he sings mentions giving dogs bones and he barks like dogs during them, and DMX isn't exactly a saint with no previous criminal record. I'm a fan of DMX the rapper, too, so don't give me that crap. Any fan of his would not be surprised at all to learn that he was involved in dogfighting or animal abuse; he raps about it, for crying out loud!

He raps about abusing animals? No, he doesn't. I'm not a DMX fan (musically) because he is a little too off the wall for me. He is a lot of things. A crack head, a felon, and someone who keeps his 40+ pit bulls in poor conditions. To make the leap that he is involved in dog fighting is like saying that Person X likes to hunt, so he probably kills people.

Anyone who has a lick of sense about them, listens to DMX and has ever seen a DMX video would not be surprised at ALL to find out that man is into fighting dogs. Your analogy makes no sense, and has you looking pretty foolish. So, as you have admitted, you are not a DMX fan. So, if you are not a fan, and don't know jack about 'em, then you probably shouldn't be giving your opinion, now should you?

Doe's DMX rap about abusing animals? No, not that I have heard. But, on his album artwork of several cd's, does he have pits lunging for eachother like blood hungry monsters? He sure does. Have you ever seen any of his videos? Pits tearing at eachother, while groups of his homies hold 'em back.

C'mon now. And M. Vick didnt gamble.

    Whatever!

I have no idea who or what a DMX is, but I do know and have worked with Sheriff Joe! He is famous in law enforcement as the country's toughest sheriff:
    http://www.mcso.org/index.php?a=GetModule&mn=Sheriff_Bio

    Pink uniforms for prisoners
Tent cities in lieu of jails (gotta be nice in the AZ sun)
He was a DEA agent, who ran for Sheriff after he retired.

So if Joe is after DMX, he is in trouble. I'd rather deal with the Feds!

Sorry, but your analogy is really poor.

One of the ways they TRAIN dogs for fighting is to starve them, beat them, and then put them against other dogs.

Now, what you seem to have over-looked was that there were also 3 dead dogs, one of which had been burned. You know. An attempt to hide evidence.

Also, why do you think I put the question mark in the title. Because it was speculation. Its almost too much of a coincidence that Phoenix is one of the cities that Vick has supposedly gone to fight dogs and where the Sheriffs had supposedly wanted to talk to Vick prior to his arrest.

Now, it could just be that they did the raid specifically for the publicity that dog fighting and animal cruelty are getting at this time so they can send a message to those people who are bring cruel to animals.

If you want to guess where the next arrests will be, follow the drug trail. The dog trail is secondary. Vick's dogs came from the DC breeding farms, which are run by many of DC's drug kingpins. You want to find the end of the trail? Follow the drugs.

Remember, the Vick arrest started with a drug arrest of one of his colleagues who was living at Vick's dog training facility.

Bingo. We all know on some level that dog fighting as a low cost, low life, underground passtime has existed forever. It's the present day tie in to drug dealers and organized crime, and the contacts that potentially generated for this face of the franchise QB, that concerns Goodell the most for obvious business reasons. The abuse disgusts him, the potential implications of the unsavory associations infuriates, and on some level terrifies him.

I would be concerned were I Goodell, whom I heartily support. These (the druggies) are very dangerous people. Who knows what they'll do. Along those lines, when and if Vick supplies info to the Feds that affects these guys, he'd better ensure that he does his time in a Club Fed imprisoned with tax fraud types and not at your regular medium security prison. Hire bodyguards after you get out too. Welcome to the lifestyle of a rapper who's 'keepin it real'.
