Re: OT: Colts lose LB and WR Gonzalez

Re: OT: Colts lose LB and WR Gonzalez

The tuck rule was called against the Patriots earlier in that same season. It's been called time and again since that season.

It's a rule that existed at the time, and it still exists. It's a completely different scenario.

The tuck rule was made for Dan Marino, because he had such a quick release.

It's been called many times over the years, it's just a big deal because it was called in a playoff game, and Al Davis made it a big deal.
( and still whines about it ).

Bad calls, good calls, whatever, they all even out.

It's just that the better teams overcome the bad calls, so nobody notices them, while the losing teams use the bad calls as an excuse.

Re: OT: Colts lose LB and WR Gonzalez

Yeah and Dilfer is better then Marino. ;)

It must suck to have such a reputation and never have won it all?

Same w/ Peyton.... only 1 to Brady's 3?

Re: OT: Colts lose LB and WR Gonzalez

This is going to be a hell of a game.

At least we have a rational Colts fan here, one who doesn't think that the Colts are just going to crush the poor, helpless, defenseless Patriots.

Nope doesn't bother me, I got to see my team win one, I am watching 1 of the GOAT play the position of quarterback for my team I am a happy man.

Thanks, I stated in my welcome post, I love this game. It has become the regular season event of the year. I want a good game.

Calls change the course of games, against 'better' teams and 'losing' teams. The notion that they are just an excuse is simply a way to gloss over their impact.

The tuck rule was called this past Monday night. Matt Ryan still had the ball in his hand when the ball was stripped, but his arm was going forward. The ref even clarified to the whole watching world that "although the ball was still in his hand, his arm was going forward so it is ruled an incomplete pass". Mike Tirico started ribbing color man Gruden about that, saying "That's exactly right, isn't it John?" Gruden playfully responded with, "What's up with all these rules?"

Regards,
Chris

He is/was a starter, returning from tearing his other ACL last year.
