NFL Total Access looks back at the tackle made by Ben Watson in the 2005 playoffs against Denver.

NFL Videos: NFLTA: Ben Watson's tackle

A tight end just caught one of the fastest players in the league and he was on the opposite side of the field and he ran into the ref.
    Memories.... :)

It's a pretty amazing effort by Watson.. i have liked him since we drafted him. He might have a case of the drops every once in a while but he's overall pretty consistent. Seems to make the really tough catches way more regularly than the easy ones... Great video, i like the part when the Denver players are talking about it.

    #12 Jersey

1 of the greatest football plays period imo and I was at the 50 yard line in person for 4th and 26.

I still think Watson has the potential to become one of the league's best receiving TEs. They should play him more consistently.

exactly. Had the refs got that one right there might be another Lombardi trophy in Patriot Place right now.

It was certainly a great, memorable, hustle play by Watson, an athletic freak of nature at tight end.

However, it also says a lot about Watson, that this play is Watson's most well known play, after being a 1st rd TE pick and having played many many years already with fewer memorable plays at his actual position.

I'm gonna go ahead and call the MNF opener against the Jills THIS YEARhis best performance so far. And I bet his season will follow form.

they would have steamrolled the Steelers in Foxborough and Seattle was a joke that year. It was also one of the few red-zone interceptions (in the only?) Brady has ever thrown in the post season.

Um, it's an amazing play. It would be many TE's most memorable play, and that's not necessarily an indictment of them.

    No Jersey Selected

Didn't he throw one against Carolina in the SB? I know he later threw one against SD in the 2007 AFCCG.

    In Watson's case, it is.

That play is a great encapsulation of Watson the player - an athletic freak, whose biggest career play was using his speed/hustle, nothing to do with his skills as a tight end (which are mediocre/average).

He's done everything asked of him so far this season, and has been one of our best players on offense. I'll reserve judgment (not a common thing on this board).

Regardless of how Watson's career turns out and whether he fulfills his potential, it was an incredible play, and a crushing hit. Plus it sends a heck of a message when your franchise QB has just committed a game-changing interception.

That was an incredible play, also think that Watson does fine here.. drops a few balls, but overall a very utilitarian tight end... with our O weapons, he becomes a secondary receiver who can make some big plays...

    QFT.

But, I agree with most, that even in the loss it's one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen. I didn't get a chance to appreciate it back when it happened because like everyone in Patriots Nation I was more concerned with whether we would get the ball back or whether it was a touchdown. But looking back on it makes me realize just how awesome this game is.

    #12 Jersey

The biggest travesty was that it should have been a touchback.

Baily lost the ball at about the 1.5 yard line - and the ball went way forward - not sideways at all.
