Specter's certainly an expert at "going down".

Yes, gay jokes. What do you want from me? I'm watching Celtics/Magic and I've had a few beers so sue me.

    It's A-R-L-E... aw, who cares. He's done.

Fox News has called it for Spector's opponent.

OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, a Republican who switched to the Democratic Party to enhance his chances of being elected to a sixth Senate term and who is well known to Patriots fans for his attempts to investigate the Patriots, under the guise of "Spygate," for the crime of defeating his Eagles in the Super Bowl, tonight lost his bid to seek his new Party's nomination, ending his 30 year Senate career.

Losing his Senate seat will never replace the damage and carnage that he inflicted on the Patriots in the lead up to Superbowl 42.

As much as I hate Specter & Tomasi, I refuse to believe they had any affect on the Patriots play that day.

I'd like to give BB more credit than letting off-the-field issues disrupt on-the-field play.

Re: OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

I'm sure he will become an Independent by the end of the month.

I am glad to see him go. He blatantly abused his Congressional powers for his own fandom of the Eagles and his association with Comcast. And Spygate wasn't his worst offense. I think it was sickening that he used threats of Antitrust investigations to nulify the trade of Terrell Owens to Baltimore so that the Eagles could get him. He should have been brought up on his own Congressional investigation for that.

I agree but sometimes distractions no matter how small or insignificant can be that 1% difference. Either way it seems the smallest of his offences against the American people.

Re: OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

I don't know if it had anything to do with their play in the Super Bowl, but it was definitely a shady attack piece by Specter and the NY Times to have the story the Friday before the Super Bowl. And how the NY Times acted as Specter's mouth piece during the entire ordeal tells me that it was definitely collusion between the two and both entities steps far outside the bounds of their roles to submarine the Patriots.

I defend Tomase here. He gets all the blame for the whole thing before the Super Bowl. But it was Specter and the NY Times behind the whole thing. If they didn't run their story on Friday, Mike Fish and ESPN wouldn't have run their story about Matt Walsh that they were sitting on because Walsh stated he had the smoking gun against the Pats but refused to prove he did and then ESPN broke every journalistic ethics code and ran the story anyway. And without that ESPN piece, Tomase would have never ran his story about videotaping the walkthrough. It was all Specter and the NY Times' fault.

No but Specter , who is a dope, never let it go, and was so misinformed on the situation, was trying to make himself look good... What goes around comes around... changing patry's is poor sportmanship... He deserves to go..

Absolutly right Rob, Specter was the spearhead behind it... Did it effect the game.. No But it put a big tarnish on it before and just set a omen that we never recovered from....

It will be years before the smell of this POS will leave my nose. I hated his politics, but that political spectacle he displayed with the whole spygate thing was UNFORGIVABLE to me.

    Good riddance.

Re: OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

Glad to see that he is no longer going to be a Senator.

Please top with blaming him for the Superbowl loss though, we went 18-0 before that so its hardly a factor. Just one of those days, freak pass, freak catch caught us out and in fairness the Giants had shown incredible form leading up to that Superbowl including almost beating us in week 17.

Arlan Specter is a dirtbag, has been his entire career. This entire country is better off with that d-bag out of Washington.

He should've spent more time representing his constituents and less time grandstanding against the Patriots.

Re: OT: Harlan Specter to lose Pennsylvania Senate Seat?

He helped infiltrated the Republican Party so that all the neocon agendas over the last decade could get implemented(i.e. the wars and bloodshed in the ME - all of which is PNAC's, the "Religious Right"'s, and the neocons' goal to get us a big step closer to building the 3rd Temple in Jeruselum for the Antichrist to be the One World Ruler - 2nd The 2 and Rev 13).

He then infiltrated the Democrat Party so that the straw can be broken off the camel's back to help Obama implement the final stages of all these draconian measures to usher in the New World Order.(no, Obama is NOT the Antichrist, otherwise he would have come with all lies, signs, and wonders - Matthew 24, 2nd The 2, Rev 13)

In other words, Republican or Democrat, they may appear to be at odds with each other in front of the cameras, but off camera, they're ONE and the SAME. They're bought off, blackmailed, and in some cases-they're members of the Council on Foreign Relations/Trilateral Commission/Builderbergers-all of which is the shadow government trying to implement the One World Government with a false 'Messiah'(likely maitreya) at the head.

Did you know that in the last election - all of our candidates except for Ron Paul and Steven Gravel were NOT members of these draconian groups mentioned above?

Re: OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

Your points about the Times and Specter are well-taken, but absolving Tomase, the Herald and ESPN is wrong. They share a good part of the blame. It was not all Specter's and the NY Times' fault.

Re: OT: Arlen Specter loses Senate seat

Spector did SO much damage to BOTH parties over the long haul, IMHO - not just the Democrats, but especially the Republicans as well.

He largely helped the Senate push all these draconian agendas regardless of what party he was in - the neocons' and PNAC's when Bush was Prez, and now the coffin-nailers that Obama rammed down that could usher in the New World Order/One World Government. And less not forget he came up with the "single bullet theory" idea many moons ago.

BTW - don't think for a minute these elections are honest - they are RIGGED. In the last Prez election, for example, only Ron Paul and Steven Gravel were the only 2 candidates that are non-Council on Foreign Relations/Trilateral Commission/Builderberger members(all of whose main agenda is to usher in this draconian One World Government with likely maitreya at the head).

Good to see the politicians around the world that sit in parliament are as liked and held in such esteem too :D.

Is it just me or is there a serious lack of quality politicians everywhere? Best interests of the country my arse.

NWO is a Masonic notion in the Christian vein, so why would this shadow government put a Bodhisattva (Maitreya) in charge? A Buddhist in charge of all Christians? Except for that one little detail, I almost bought your conspiracy theory.

Re: OT: Harlan Specter to lose Pennsylvania Senate Seat?

Apparently, alot of our world leaders over the last 2-3 decades have come in contact with 'lord maitreya'(actually it should be devil betraya) - Gorbachev used his works, supposedly Bush Sr had contact with his spirit during the 1992 election year, and apparently too he was at a peace meeting with Reagan and Gorby in the late 1980's. And he made his only public appearance in Kenya in 1988 at some church(hailing himself as [the counterfeit]Jesus Christ) - oddly Obama was in Kenya around the same time as this maitreya guy made his little rendez-vous there.

YouTube - Aquarius: The Age of Evil (7/14)

There was a maitreya ad on CNN, Nancy Grace, Discovery Channel, Rush Limbaugh, etc early last year - it was advertised as 'He's the Christ to Christians, who's expecting his imminent return, he's the Inman Madhi to the Muslims, he's Maitreya to the Buddhists, he's the Messiah to the Jewish, he's Krishna to the Hindus, etc'.(Basically, he's "all religions rolled up into one", which is LIE b/c it's COMPLETELY contrary to John 14:6) I was shocked that the tv MSM got into the act recently.

I really hate to say this, but the damage has already been done - trillions of paper money being wasted and counting, and of course the deathcare bill.

The next [puppet]President, regardless of party affiliation, will only continue to implement whatever draconian agendas Obama put forth.
