Let's take a particular look at Randy Meuller's one year in charge of personnel. IIRC his 4 biggest moves were:
- Signing Joey Porter to a big contract
- Drafting Ted Ginn top-10 overall
- Drafting John Beck in the 2nd to make up for skipping QB in the 1st
- Trading away Wes Welker

Which is why I always laughed my ass off when ESPN would put him on the air as an NFL "expert". The guy is 100% grade A hack. What's really sad is that you don't have to use hindsight to criticize these moves - a lot of people were saying how stupid it was for him to sign Porter, deal Welker and pass on Brady Quinn as he was doing it.
