I was in 4th grade. Mom and dad didn't keep me up past 9pm.

Love the Beatles and Lennon though. Arguably the greatest musical loss of our generation.

I would not be born for another 14 years. But I still love the Beatles, even though they had not been a band for 25 years by the time of my birth. Greatest band ever, who revolutionized music like no other band in history. R.I.P. John Lennon.

    Good stuff, Michael.

I had the 45 of Watching the Wheels and remember hearing the news of his death, but sadly I too was a mere 5th grader and not watching the night games.

Remember the news, but not the game, because I didn't know the Pats existed. Strange to think that earlier discovery would have been a simple matter of turning the TV on and switching to channel 7....

I remember that like it was yesterday. The Beatles were my favorate group at the time(still one of my mine) and the Patriots were about to kick a FG to winning the game or something like that then we heard this and I just looked at the TV stunned. I think the Pats ended up losing the game in OT but I don't remember that part too well.

I remember Howard making the announcement. I remember nothing else about the game.

    No Jersey Selected

I was ten at the time and knew who the Beatles were. I knew it was a somber event because all of the adults were stunned. One can only imagine the music that Lennon still had left in him.:(

Odly enough when he was asked (rather strange question) how he thought he'd die he said "I'll probrably get popped off by some loony".
