Sigh, I'm stupid - how do I do this to take up the whole screen without stretching it ?

First, right-click your desktop and select Properties.

Next, click the Settings tab. There should be a slider on the left side, showing your screens resolution. It will say, "X by X pixels"

If it is 1920x1200, 1024x768 or 800x600, you're in luck as those are the resolutions I posted. If it is something different, let me know and I'll adjust it custom for you.
