Wow ... anyone see this game tonight?

A great game from beginning to end except for Ramirez's pitching.

3 runs ... an Ortiz homer over the monster, A-Gon over the monster ... Ortiz by Pesky's Pole.

Wakefield picks up where he left off ... great defense by the Sox.

All we need now is for Penny to be released so Francona can't feel bad for him anymore.

Francona has a soft spot for veterans that's all. I could be wrong but I think for
all the good Francona does sometimes Theo froces his hand by removing the player
from Francona's grasp. Smoltz and Penny got more starts than they earned ... just my opinion that's all.

I was expecting Ozzy to go for the bunt a bit ... not sure why he didn't test Wake's leg.

The only reason Penny got so many starts was because they had no other options. He did have a few good months, got to give him that much.

yup ... I just don't like the reclamation projects ... prefer a 5th rotation spot regular season to go to a prospect. I think it's more fun to watch. The reclamation guys used to be the long relievers. Well, there is no such bullpen position anymore so we have to suffer watching to see if they have anything left. I'd rather see young kid lose rather than awashed up older guy who has nothing left.
