I think many people are forgetting that the "Coordinator" position is one that was created in the late 70's and that, previously, the HC the one who had final say over the plays and such.
And, while Jeff Howe mentions that Patricia "only calls plays" we need to remember that it was Patricia who was responsible for changing the Pats defense during the Denver game and shutting Denver out for the better part of 3 quarters..
As for flip-flopping Peppers and Patricia, Peppers actually spent the 1st 3 years of his career mentoring the LBers... In fact, I think it's safe to say that he was directly responsible for helping Bruschi become such a great player. I am looking forward to his work with Jones, Hightower, and Bequette, not to mention Spikes, Mayo, Fletcher, Carter, etc..
Also, LB was Pepper's position when he played. So it's one he is very familiar with.
