.
Not content with disfiguring the people he does not like, such as Richard Nixon, or pumping up those he worships, like JFK, Oliver Stoned has made another THC/LSD/mushroom-fueled thriller, in the mode of Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11". Only this time, "Wow, man, far out" Stoned has gone for broke. Working over time, and having skipped countless "trips" to his dentist ;), Stoned is in a "rush" to get out his latest flight of fancy in time to impact this year's presidential elections.

Only one question remains: given his reputation for purely fictional accounts of what is supposed to be "history", will his latest fantasy produce a MORE favorable attitude toward Geo Bush (and other Republicans, by extension), or will it produce his intended result of a less favorable attitude??

We shall see. Bring it on, Stone Man!!! :singing:

The real 'W' (or at least the first few pages of the script)

Even before a single talent deal was signed or locations scouted, Oliver Stone's "W" was hotter than a Texas afternoon in July. Conservative pundits were ready to pounce on the provocateur for what they said was agenda-driven filmmaking, while Stone and his partners said they were simply telling the story of the Bush White House without varnish or sugar-coating.

As Stephen Galloway and Matthew Belloni report in THR today, both turn out to be right -- sort of. According to four Bush scholars who read a draft of the script, the tale has elements that are unquestionably accurate (like when George Jr. comes home drunk and nearly gets into a fistfight with his father) and elements that are just plain made-up (like when the president and his advisers discuss high-level policy in a casual, even frat-house, sort of manner).

Rather than just let the experts judge, we decided to offer the first few pages of the script, in which Bush and his advisers prep for the "Axis of Evil" speech, here on Risky Biz -- with the caveat that this comes from a draft of the script dated in mid-October and, according to sources close to the project, may have changed in the interim.

Risky Business Blog.. now that is a reliable source.. right up there with many others that espouse extremism and polarization.

here is an easy answer don't watch it.. prejudge and pay attention to extremist views that will mold your views of how the world works.

There was a story yesterday about how the historians were saying a lot of it was flat made up (of course it was, it's oliver stone).

I'll try to find the story. It wasn't in "riskybusinessblog".

Hey, GJAJ15, how come you never bitch when NEM or WW83 or Pressy post something from a leftie blog? Why do you only do it when it's something you consider right wing?
Or is it just that it was Foggy?

IT'S A MOVIE!
I don't see anyone complaining that "The Ten Commandments" was historically innacurate.

Oh come on...it's not really equivalent, is it?

Especially if they release "W" in November, while the man is still POTUS.

At least DeMille waited a few years after Moses died and all.

.

Oliver Stoned, like Michael Moore, are card-carrying members of the alternate universe that sees the "beautiful people" (them) with all the money and influence, and mom and pop sitting at their door-step, begging for left-overs. Siberia or at least someplace north of Nome, Alaska, would be appropriate places for these two. Oliver Stoned: hippie in Beverley Hills, Rodeo Drive, clothes.

It's a BAD movie. It's pure propaganda. It's sole purpose in life is to accuse Bush, make him look bad, make him into another wacko image, the way so many did to Richard Nixon. And Stoned Man makes money off of impressionable, gullible, weak-minded Americans, to boot.

Oliver Stone makes only sick movies because he, himself, is a very sick man. If you ask him in a moment of candor, he will tell you the same: he is ill.

His movie will go over great in all the country's that hate America, in this country the people know what an A$s hole he is, within three months of it's release you will be able to buy the DVD in the supermarket for $6.25.

Oliver is lucky he lives in America.

Oliver Stoned: could do what he does ONLY in America. No other country would tolerate such a self-hating, homeland-hating man. He is sick to the core of his being.

I don't feel comfortable forming an opinion of someone until I have learned something about them. You should try it sometime. Very rewarding.
