No Richard Seymour on that list? It sounds like he worked harder in the offseason than anyone on the team.

    #24 Jersey

Not trying to dog Seymour at all but they say he worked harder than he could have the last two seasons due to injury and that he was actually in attendance (he usually worked out on his own). I don't think they could now wether he worked harder than anyone else on the team during the offseason.

If this list means anything than he obviously didn't outwork everyone but I would also throw out there that they may not have wanted to award him this accolade for the first offseason he attended if not ever than in a while.

It looks like Sanders isn't going to give up his starting position without a fight. Although I could see him moving back to the SS position and giving Rodney a run for his money. I always thought Sanders was a better SS than FS since his coverage skills aren't the best.

Yeah, Seymour didn't make the list, but we already knew that he was much improved this offseason anyway because of his lack of injury and his weight loss. It's nice to see the rest of the D-line starters on there, though.

I'm also glad to see Bruschi on the list - I don't remember if he is a perennial Offseason Award winner or not, but the more his age comes into question, the more important his training and conditioning becomes.

Also glad to see Gaffney there as his role with the receivers has been on the increase, especially with Stallworth gone. I'm a bit disappointed that Chad Jackson didn't make the list because he's one who really needs to see significant improvement and it would be good to see some evidence of him really trying. From what I read about the first practices yesterday I think he dropped a few balls, and also seemed to not be on the same page as Brady. I know it's only the first day of TC, so I'm not giving up hope yet.

Yeah, the Pats have lost faith in him.

Seriously, can they sign him through, like, 2020 or something?

    Response to my own post:

So even though he didn't make the Offseason Award list, he apparently still had a "great offseason" according to BB.

The fact of the matter is a LOT of Patriot players have great offseason but there's a limited number who get the award. It's entirely possible Jackson had a great offseason but the others were just a little better. Same with Seymour.

Brady barely threw yesterday. It was Cassell, Guiterriez, and O'Connell throwing to the receivers. Cassell was throwing picks left and right. Still not good that he dropped a few balls but it's only the first day of TC. He looked good in MC so hopefully he can improve drastically as the year goes on.

I always love to see this list. Great to see Ty Warren staying on there even after getting the new contract. Can't wait to see Sammy Morris run again. Is Tedy a regular on this list? I don't recall him usually on there.

It would be nice for someone to compile all the winners of the BB era, I'm curious to see who has the most appearances (after Brady). Volunteers?

Also--there is one tidbit missing, someone (always Brady in the past), gets the #1 primo spot--who got it this year?

If you're looking to read something favorable (and why not be an optimist?) Wilfork's presence along with Warren could indicate some serious team-first mentality in the most important defensive guy on the team.

Wilfork may not take every defensive snap, but he anchors the run defense and signing him long-term is critical to competing at a high level. For every player on every other team b*tching about outperforming his rookie contract, here is a guy who could demand the big bucks right now and where is he? In the weight room, sticking to his diet, getting stronger and winning team awards.

    What does that tell you?

I love seeing Logan Mankins' name on there. He is one of the best guards in football, if not the best, yet got undressed by Justin Tuck in SB42 and that's what many outside New England will remember about him. He appears determined to put those memories to rest.

    Regards,
    Chris

I'd like to see Wilfork out there on the occasional third and long, wearing flashing yellow lights and a bumper sticker that reads "Wide Load. Do Not Pass."

Good point. I think the way sanders has made the transition to FS has been overlooked. He is solid player and always in the right place. The Sanders/Marriweather will be a strong tandom in the future.
