It has always been a mystery to me why Baseball umpires wore dark wool uniforms in summer and football officials would wore flimsy near see through uniforms in the winter.
I saw a special segment on NFL channel in which ht the Head of Referees said they finally addressed this stupidity. The uniforms are a set of weather proof, layered uniforms, that can be comfortable in the heat of a Miami September, or the depth of a Buffalo or Foxboro winter, by adding layers of Storm proof and absorbent clothing. Quite Hi Tech, I understand.
