maybe some, not all, but some will look at it like in Trading Places when Eddie Murphy suddenly had money and all these hangers on followed him everywhere and he had to kick them out of the house.

WHO PUT THE KOOLS OUT ON MY FLOOR!?!?!

That might be Obama in a few months to people like this.

    Completely out of context...

I heard that on Bortz show.

To me she said, No more worrying about paying SO much for Gas, becuase 4 years ago we didn't WORRY about paying for gas...

No more worrying about paying for your mortgages, where as before, we didn't have to worry about ARMs and resetting rates, and all that...

No more worrying about those things, like in the past, when they were just a cost we lived with and they weren't occupying 70% of your pay...

She doesn't believe she doesn't have to pay for anything any more... Come on.

Republicans should learn the English language.

Here is (word-for-word) what she said:

"It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment. (Reporter asks "why?"). Because I never thought this day would happen. I won't have to WORRY about putting gas in my car, I won't have to WORRY about paying my mortgage. If I help them, they help me."
    _________________________--

Where in there does she ever say 'I won't have to PAY to put gas in my car' or 'I won't have to PAY my mortgage'.

If the economy improves under a COMPETENT President (wouldn't THAT be nice!), she might have a well paying job and not have to WORRY about how to pay for gas and her mortgage.

Learn English, NEPatriot. I'm sure you can take a night course.

I think you're interpretation is not very sharp, as Shmessy observed. If you believe that Obama is going to turn the economy around, then it's reasonable to think that people won't have to worry about paying their mortgages and affording gas, especially if they believe in the American dream and that work will be available and hard work will be rewarded.

Of course, she doesn't have to worry if she thinks that Obama will pay everything for her.

It's a big IF and it's too bad that she didn't know about Obama's plan to kill expectations after election victory before she commented. i can't believe that Obama ends her dreams this early.

Oh, yes, I forgot. You're the one who edited one of my quotes on this board yesterday. Of course, you would have no respect for the English language.

Nowhere in her excited statement, in the middle of that crowd cheering, did she ever say she expected anyone but herself to pay for her car's gas or her own mortgage.

    That is an objective fact.

If you want to lie to everyone on this board, it is right there in black and white.

If you can't logically argue with me, don't tell me that i'm lying.Let me try to understand you. She has been worried about paying stuffs for 8+ years and she suddenly stops doing that because of Obama?

Does she believe that Obama will help her out of her gas and mortgage payment? It certainly explains why she isn't worried.

You fail to understand one thing: change takes time. Do you think that Obama is competent enough to make it happen?

Before a man killed himself, he left a note to Obama and it states "Obama take care of my family."

Your desperation for change really blinds your judgement. In the end, you will understand that a dream is still a dream and you see nothing after waking up.

Look, Obama may end up being a great President. And given that he's going to be elected I hope he is. But let's be honest here without parsing this particular quote; a lot - A LOT - of Obama supporters think there's going to be some amazing pass down of money from the rich to them, that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet can pay everyone's mortgage off and also buy them dinner. Pick your candidate, pick your party. On inauguration day little will change and people with no education still aren't going to get a decent job. I don't know whether it was his intent or not but Obama has created this feeling that the government will help each and every person who isn't "rich". I think things could get better for a short time because there will be a feeling of new confidence in the air - but it will quickly disappear.

As for this particular interviewee - I think she thinks the government will pay off her mortgage and drop gas prices to $0.89 a gallon. No, that's not exactly what she said but it's how it came across to me; I've long since given up trying to parse and disect exact meaning of sentences as most Americans don't actually get their grammar correct to say what they really mean.

Good post, even though I do not agree with everything.. imo what people believe about Obama and the economy is that things will change and get better, to the point that people do not have to worry as much about being able to afford homes and pay for energy costs.. it is about believing that things can be different than they are right now.

This election has lent itself into a compilation of political internet sites, you tube videos, SNL appearances followed by much hysteria. how we are informed is different than before.. with such an immersion into various types of media.. there is just too much crap out there..they could find a drunken person out there who is rambling about Obama and all of a sudden it would be viewed as something credible..

The challenge will become in future elections is to find sources that are at least 1/2 credible as there is not much out there right now.. there has been an effort, but right now the main players are partisan.. perhaps it is the quest for the sensational, perhaps it is finding comfort in like minded sites.. not sure what it is, but to be informed have to go through about 15 -20 political sites just to come close to the actual truth..

What people forget is that DC is a classically institutionalized setting, and to just think you can make significant change cannot just happen.. anything that happens will have to be done so incrementally, as there will be resistance to doing things differently than they are right now.

Disingenuous parsing, a la Bill Clinton, now perfected by the Manchurian Candidate, Barack Obama and his flunkies.

America was surely NOT built on this.
