    For whatever it's worth....

A co-worker of mine named Bob recently met with president Obama representing our company. I was with Bob for a couple of days this week and I can tell you he is not an Obama supporter, but he had some interesting comments regarding his meeting.

It was an event inside a military hanger and Michelle accompanied her husband as well.

Bob told me he never met anyone so dynamic. He went on to say Michelle was just as dynamic as her husband and the 2 together were incredible.

Side note: Bob said Michelle was much more attractive in person than he expected.

No opinion, just sharing his experience.

Here's a link to a video of the event. If you watch 10 seconds of it, Bob is the guy in glasses to the right of Michelle in the second row.

P.S. Bob would be very upset with me if you guys told him I posted this. So keep it quiet. ;)

I think great politicians have a lot of charisma. Years ago, I met a woman who went to fundraiser for Ted Kennedy that featured only about 50 people. She said one always had a sense of where Ted was in the room; his presence was larger than life. I met Mario Cuomo when he was lieutanant governor and, I'm rarely awestruck, but there was a quality to his presence like I never experienced before. I've read the same about Reagan, Clinton, and JFK. To get to the White House I think you have to have a bit of a magic quality.

Its too bad having charisma or being dynamic dosen't matter if you have no idea how to lead, how to treat people, how to become something greater then yourself.....

I love how we elect guys/gals that talks the best, have charisma but don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. When I talk about Obama I say he's like a used car sells man, when your at the dealership you listen to him and he makes a great sell, after you get home your like "why the fack did I buy this car".

Being a great speaker, having charisma means nothing if your not a good person, if you can't lead not by words but by actions, by blood sweat and tears.Change is hard and at this moment in our history we need it more then anything, but few are up to the challenge and few a capable of doing it.

I want a Prez that tells me what I need to hear, rather then what I want to hear, a prez that doesn't make slogans and sighs to get his message across but leads with action and vigor and a passion for helping people not leading from a pew or by legislation. I have never in my lifetime seen a prez do work, talk with people in person instead of on a stage.....Real leaders are all but dead, but there is hope, hope in our children if we choose to teach them right and lead them right, inspire them to be better then us and to lead by example.

Someday maybe we all will see in our lifetime a real leader, it will be a great time in our history if we do, if not well I think most know where this world is headed.....:(

Bolded: Maybe it was the scotch she was smelling?

No, but seriously...In order to get to office, you have to command a room with your voice (a bit louder than others), body language (exaggerated motions and hand gestures) and never letting in a quiet moment. Tip O'Neil was like that. Booming voice and making physical contact with everyone in the room with a handshake, pat on the back, hand on the shoulder or a touch on the arm. It's an art form and fun to watch.

That's what's wrong with the world, we want someone that makes us feel good rather then someone that has great ideas and is a leader.....

Yeah, you get elected by having good body language and by having a great voice and by having charisma! This is not high school, this is the real world and being popular is not going to solve our problems, yeah it will get you elected but that's the problem.....

"Daddy, why are your glasses fogging up when that WOMAN WHO HATES AMERICA whispers to a Muslim?"

"Son, that's Michelle Obama, her arms make Chris Matthew's legs tingle, that's why. Listen close and she will tell you want you can eat for lunch"

"Ok, but who is that man who is bowing to her?"

    "That's the Crackhead-in-Chief, Son."

Actually Ann Coulter said something very similar yesterday..

On Sean Hannity’s radio show, venomous wingnut heroine Ann Coulter says "The nonsense about President Obama being a Muslim has got to stop," Coulter wrote on the conservative website TownHall.com. "I rise to defend him from this absurd accusation by pointing out that he is obviously an atheist."

Most of these charactors have charisma, or a certain presence about them. They are in national politics afterall. They need to know how to work a room, or present themselves in a certain manner. It goes with the job. Like the guy who's name I can't spell said, used car salesmen offer similar qualities sometimes. :D

Let's not forget too that part of the auora that surrounds famous, or powerful people, helps to add a certain dynamism (is that a word? Sounds good anyway) by default. The "wow" factor feeling we get of "omg that's the president/senator/Tom Brady/pornstar from On Golden Blonde" tends to add bonus points by default. Think about it, most people get excited when they see a back up lineman on the Patriots in public, or the 12th man on the Celtics who they didn't even know was on the team. That being said, I'm not in the least bit surprised that a national political figure was impressive in person, with a crowd, or in talking to some peasants from the street. Not that your boss is a peasant PR, it's just that most elites probably view all of us as such. :D

If I knew a politician who saw citizens as peasants, I'd whack them if I got the chance to meet them...unfortately, I'd need "special powers" to know that....

    ....wait a MINUTE!!!

oh, so you want someone like George W. Bush. The guy who looked like the rest of us, spoke like a regular guy, and surrounded himself with seasoned politicians. The guy that also ran this country so far into debt it will be another 10 years before we recover. You would rather have that guy.

The real reason it will not matter who gets elected is because there is no team work, no willingness to agree on middle ground to get something done. Both sides have dug their heel is on every issue, nothing is getting passed and the country is suffering. There is no respect for the Pesidency...not the person, but the seat or position of leading this country. Until both side work together for the greater good (you know, the reason we elect them), until that happens, then the country is just treading water

This is what you have to be in life:
    Dishonest

    Liar Liar Liar
    Crook
    Being A Drunk Helps
Learn How To Have Permanent Grin No Matter How They Insult You
    Sex Perversion Also Helps
    Professional Bullsh!t Artist

    Unfaithful To Your Spouse
    Greedy

If you posess those quality's chance are you would be a great politician.
