Democrats, Unions Reach Deal on Health Tax - WSJ.com

While everybody else is paying cadillac tax for ObamaCARE, unions are exempted from it. Obama is a good Union's boy.

This is a disgrace, people who work in non union shops non governmental employees are being discriminated against. Chicago crony politics.

My neighbor and I make the same money, we have the same medical plan, he works in a union shop, I don't. His medical plan isn't taxed, my plan is taxed at 40%.

Amy Obama supporters care to try and defend this?

This is the rationale I've read behind it:

I am more and more convinced that this bill will not get past the Supreme Court. I can't see how you can tell people that they must buy something or pay a penalty (an unlike car insurance, you can not choose, not to live).

How can it be legal for the federal government ot subzidize Louisiana and Nebraska and not the other states?

How can you tax a non-union worker, and not tax a union worker? What about Right to work states?

Hopefully the good people of Massachusetts will put an end to this travesty next week, but I have a strange feeling that the voter fraud machine that is Obama will be coming to town soon!

Can I ask where you got the quote for the rationale? It might help to put it in context.

So someone might take a $12/ hr job rather than a job that pays $15/hr due to the health ins benefit, now they will be screwed by Obama.

First of all.....Who is hiring ANYONE?

The conservative experiment not only failed, it has taken us back a generation or two. We no longer manufacture anything but weapons, we have successfully shipped all our jobs overseas, we have dropped the tax rate for the wealthiest americans.

Now the few reamaining unions, who negotiated lower pay, to recieve a better nebefit package, and you people still B!TCHHH!!!

    Its amazing!

Unions are the last voice of the worker against elite corporate greed. Imagine for a second if they did thge same thing to your VOTES as they are doing to the unions in this country?

Unions and their members should not be punished for this.

    THis is a fair deal.

Of course it's not "fair". If two identical earners have to pay a different tax then it's not fair.

What's the end result, though ? The bill gets less revenue which means it has to be made up somewhere which means taxing the "rich" many of whom are small business owners and there will be more layoffs or less hiring.

If it's fair to tax a non union person making $X then it's fair to tax a union person making $X.

Regarding the contract, contracts can be re-opened, obama is just bending over for his friends as usual.

We are losing jobs to other countries because it costs too much to make anything here in the U.S. Precisely because of unions and corporate taxes.

And unions are a major cause of corporate greed. Corporations are forced to make more higher profits to feed the demands of the union beast.

The major weapon used to fight corporate greed is competition.

Thats a crock of $#!T...and you know it.

Its all to maximize profits for stockholders and the executives. Any honest person will tell you that, and claim capitalism as its shield for explaning it to you with a straight face.

A plant in Mexico, or a call cenetr in India has NO UNION, we are exporting slave labor, without a voice. All the while eliminating Jobs for AMERICANS. Then you all b!TCH that the unemployment figures are so high.....who thinks like you people?

A union keeps these poeple honest.

You seem to be for slave labor, sweatshops, and elimination of the middle class....

Sure they can. Usually the union wants something for the concessions, of course.

Anyway, regardless of that, IT'S NOT FAIR. Clearly. If you can't or won't add a tax for a union worker then you shouldn't add a tax for a non union worker.

Hey, I never said I supported losing jobs to other countries. And I agree, that corporations try to max profits for their investors. But unions increase the cost of manufacturing and make us less competitive overseas.

What your shortsighted-ness fails to see is that the money the US worker makes in teh US gets spent in the US.

The money that the Indian makes from the US compnay, gets sucked out of teh us and circulated in India...

BUY AMERICAN.....even if it costs more. In the end you are helping america.

Has nothing to do with hate.

The unions are being bribed. Simple as that. They were threatening to drop support of the hc bill because of the cadillac tax. This bribe, exempting unions from the tax, was made so they continue supporting it.

I answered what conservative hated more, if not my fault that you asked the wrong question that mean you would never get the right answer. I ws just trying to help educate you about a topic (conservatives) you seem to know nothing about.

I know exactly what you are all about, trust me...

This reply is actually a perfect example of what you people do. Take a questiuon, taylor you answer to further your marching orders with absolutly NO thought...then talk down.

I know this coming from a family littered with the same thought process (or lack there of) that you seem to gravitate to. It is this: Repeat what I'm told to repeat....dont ask questions.

Its no secret either, maybe it is to somone on th ebottom of this pyramid. Michael Steele just put it ever so perfectly the other day...and I quote....

“I’m telling them and I’m looking them in the eye and say I’ve had enough of it. If you don’t want me in the job, fire me. But until then, shut up. Get with the program or get out of the way.”

You obviously are "with the program"

When my pops sails with Bush 41...don't tell me that I don't know about conservatives, they have tried to recruit me since birth....I just enjoy thinking for myself....I'm not a part of any "progam"

If you ever used that term in around black people you would get the crap beat out of you ... without question. It is a derogatory comment that is considered racist by some black people.

You really need to get a clue NEP ... I'm surprised nobody in this thread has said anything yet. Obviously some here grew up on the good side of the neighborhood. Never jumped for change I guess.

Also lost in this sidetracking BS by Neo cons about this subject is the fact that this was something that a Union LOBBIED the white house for. They saw an injustice for thier people who they represent and went out and did something about it.

Its frickin AMAZING that the conservatives on this board, and ESPECIALLY in the media will back up and defend the health insurance lobby, the perscription drug lobby, the bank and wall street lobby, the energy lobby...The Military Industrial Loby etc...

    but workers?????

FUKC YOU WORKERS!!!! You can't lobby the government! Only Big Buisness can!

    its CRAP-TASTIC!

again, what side are you people on?
