Bush Iraqi adventure already on track to cost over $1 trillion.

Thanks for your late arriving fiscal concern.

Gee, God forbid the money be spent on OUR economy and people.

Is it a big disappointment if this 1+ trillion stimulus plan doesn't cover medical, education, and housing?

I have ASKED this question for months and none of liberals gives me an answer. People are happy that Obama is in the office and the rest is irrelevant.

The same people who will pay for the Iraq War, rebuilding of Iraq, and the national debt.

What about bridges and schools and sewer plants and water treatment and roads and new energy systems and research and NASA and national parks and dog food for the German shepherd?

Evidently, NEPatriot doesn't think that's as important as spending the same amount on those things in Iraq.

He deeply cares about Iraq's infrastructure. Ours? Not so much.

I'd just like to point out that the $12 billion a month mentioned in this forum, for Iraq, doesn't all go to building roads there. The vast majority of those funds is used to supply our boys and girls in uniform. Also, does spending money for the war, albiet one many don't like, justify spending money everywhere else? If my wife buys a pair of shoes I don't think she needs, does that mean that I'm justified in buying something I don't need, even though we're jointly broke? I'm not discounting the stimulus plan, I'm simply pointing to the logic being used here, that somehow, the funding for Iraq justifies a $1 trillion bill (which is not to say that the bill itself sucks). I do understand the anger someone might feel though.

Exactly. Not all 12 Billion is just spent in Iraq. Much of it comes back to the US to buy supplies and pay wages. Some is also given to the Iraq goverment, whish is then turned right around to US contractors to build the infrastructure. That is no comparison to 1 Trillion in handouts.

Oh, and you still haven't explained how its going to be paid for.

You are a liar. The problem with USA is we have spent a lot of money to help other countries for decades and the government haven't spent a dime to help us here.

I'm all for all mentioned things;however, our country is broke. If we continue borrowing the money, we will never get out of debt.

We should have done what you said when we WERE RICH. What Obama is doing right now is like having a second 'mortgage' while we haven't fully paid the first mortgate.
