I'm kinda surprised that this didnt make it to the board yet.

So, THE ONION wrote an article (satire)

Frustrated Obama Sends Nation Rambling 75,000-Word E-Mail | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

FOX Nation picked it up as actual news, without backchecking, or even LOOKING that it was from THE ONION.

Fox Nation Accidently Reposts Obama 'Rambling... | Gather

The article is actually quite funny and takes jabs at a bunch of groups including conservative bloggers. But whats really funny here is that FOX Nation obviously didnt READ the article, nor did any of the hateful people who posted comments.

    HEADLINE? check......HATE? check......sourceCHECK? never.....

That is the funniest thing I've seen in weeks......What jerks they are.

It amazes me that anyone will stick up for them after this....and yet I know they will. In fact, I am amazed that 13 and a few others haven't been here making excuses already.

It's pretty funny how you condemn people for doing something they didn't do and then in the vey next sentence admit no one has done it yet.

Tell me, does it ever get tiring being so sanctimonious and self righteous?

Faux is not a news orginization, it the neo-clown version of the Onion.

    Fox News...

The best thing to happen to American news!

    Why?

Because our previous assortment of news sources all painted the same picture that was tainted one way. At least now we have balance.

As for this mistake...very stupid mistake. But then again, it's not something I haven't seen from NBC or ABC in the past.

Come on Harry, me and you both know Fox News is a pile of steaming ****. Only good thing to every come out of FN is we get too see hot dumb blondes, that have no business being in News but are nice to look at.

I'm not saying NBC,CNN are any better but there rhetoric is toned down from FN. If you watch FN for more then a day, you would think its the end of the world, they play on peoples fear and that's what makes them scum.....

I don't hate rich people/upper middle class but I sure don't respect them at all, any person that has an ounce of decency would not stand by and watch this fear mongering going on and not stand up and say anything about it. What FN does is wrong and that's not too say other don't do it but in the end YOU have to lead by example and be the better person, its not all about money and ratings, sometimes its about doing the right thing.

Quite honestly, I think we've seen far worse from NBC and CBS. Did Fox News make a mistake? Sure looks like they did and they should be embarrassed to have done so. Although they referenced the article came from Onion, they should have been more forthcoming with the fact it was satire. But I think it is safe to say that it was an honest mistake. Meanwhile, CBS presented documents they knew were forgeries to try and "prove" Bush went AWOL and NBC knowingly rigged an explosion to "prove" how dangerous a certain truck was.

Liberals can get back to me when Fox stoops to that low of a level of journalism.

Wasn't there a story broke by one of the network cabals about Bush that turned out to be disproven by internet bloggers. I can't quite remember the particulars but it turned out they were going on a supposedly old document from the early 70's but it turned out the document was a fraud.
It was easily proven because the way it was dated.
The document used a feature from Word...3rd... where the rd goes to an exponent type style.
I believe an anchorman lost his job or resigned.
Edit: Sorry about that Wolfpack. You already nailed it.
    Ooops!

This sounds like a stupid mistake. Amusing but that's it.

What I don't believe were mistakes have been the repeated references to scandal-ridden or losing Republican pols as Dems. That has happened too many times, and always in one direction, to be honest mistakes, IMO.
