I believe he's defending himself against Republican negative campaigning. As in, not allowing what happened to John Kerry to happen to him.

What did he say that was negative? Is he not allowed to respond to what's being said about him?

John Kerry lost because he didn't respond correctly to swift boat ads.

    There it is!

prime example of what he was talking about. Somehow calling ignorant talking points out is "Flip-Flopping" and becoming negative. So he can't defend himself against dumb statements by dumb spinsters who write dumb talking points for his opponenet? Classic.

What does the prime tatste like on the Titanic? Nevermind...tell me ALL about it when you guys reach dry land.

    See ya soon, kisses!

Actually, I agree with you on the other post, but not on this one. Kerry lost because he was an awful candidate, liberal, and viewed as an elitist. I think the swiftboating helped the cause for the GOP for sure, but Kerry's response wasn't what hurt him. Being John Kerry did.

This picture probably did more to hurt JK than his response to the Swift Boaters.

After the election he traded that baby suit in for this T-shirt.

Ok, I agree in principle, I hated Kerry. But the election came down to what? 1-2 million votes? I have to believe that the swift boating was his biggest campaign 'gaffe' and that if he had come out strong and responded swiftly (no pun intended) he would have eeked out the win. Not to say he was a good candidate.

I can't watch this as I'm at work but Obama saying "these guys take pride in ignorance" sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me.

I think all of Obama's proposed policies suck, should I not say that? It that being ignorant to point out the flaws in his snake oil?

Why? Shall we dare say it?

His surrogates are out there attacking McCain all over, at least McCain has the balls to do it himself, unlike BHO.

I think you need to look at the definition of IGNORANT and compare it with what it means to DISAGREE.

    fantastic!

That's fine, I don't know about the last part, McCain has some surrogates too. But as he says in that video, the tire pressure thing wasn't a "policy" he was responding to someone in the audience asking about the little things people can do to save energy. So deliberately criticizing that as his "energy policy" is either ignorant or disingenuous.

What energy policy ? Just magically using new technologies that are unproven and have no infrastructure doesn't count. And he's not supporting offshore drilling now like some seem to think, he just said he wouldn't want to completely rule it out - which is NOT the same as supporting it.

That's a different argument. Either way the "tire pressure" quotes are not his energy policy and to suggest otherwise is either disingenuous or ignorant.

Maybe Obama was talking about all politicians - if so I agree with him. Like the Democrat who was saying Granny Pelosi wouldn't allow a vote on drilling because we live in a "Representative Democracy". Huh ? That equals one person not allowing our Representatives to vote ? Nice.

That's true but Obama better be careful with this because his people take snippets out of context too - does that mean Obama takes pride in ignorance ?

he was talking about the neoconservative strategy, and summed it up perfectly. Thats why you see so many peeps on this board that are changing the subject.
