It's all about pipeline wars ... gas pipeline wars.

Buried at the end of the article is the little nugget of info.

    You're partially right.
America's economy would be destroyed if Iran succeeded in selling oil in Euros, as Saddam initiated in 2000 (google 'Petrodollar'). So in a way it is about oil.
Also, Israel sees Iran as the next target for their big brother to attack, now that Iraq is out of the way.
Two mutual interests aligned to target Iran.

Not "in a way" is it all about energy... It IS THE way.

I've been saying so since I joined this forum, and others before that. It's interesting that more and more people are finally reading the road map that screams "it's all about energy." A roadmap that started with Cheney's admission to the London Institute of Petroleum that oil was running out, and continued with his shielding of the NEPDG from public consumption all the way to the Supreme Court.

The entire floundering world economy is the result of waning energy and over-population... This story is merely the latest in a pyramid stack of examples confirming that reality.

Inb4 "how come the price of gas at the pump didn't go down after Iraq derr derr derr." This is a point that has been made since the start of the Iraq invasion. Strategic imperialist wars and conflicts aimed at gaining critical leverage over energy-rich nations is the name of the game, why do you think Chavez is today's bogeyman? If it can't be justified militarily, it'll be done economically, but one way or another the empire will have its way.
