ANyone else appalled that Obama would go to Germany and other european countries as if he were president? i can understand going to afghanistan or iraq, but he's got no business making what amounts to a campaign trip in germany, etc.

Did it bother you when McCain went to Columbia?

He is Christ our lord, he walks on water, he does and goes where he pleases while his Ball Washers drop to their knees at the mere mention of his holy name he is the Prince Barack Hussein Obama.

no because mccain didn't make a big stink of it. obama is going there, getting all the press and making a big speech to the world. then he blows off the troops. mccain didn't make his trip into a campaign event, obama did.

McCain didn't make a big deal of it? Some of his supporters tried to imply that he was somehow connected with the release of the Columbian hostages.

    http://thinkprogress.org/2008/07/02/mccain-colombia/

(It's a liberal site, but they have video from Fox.)

The reason Obama's getting a lot of attention now is because he's doing it now. McCain got attention when he went abroad. But, it's pretty obvious that Obama is more popular.

He went to Germany as Barack Obama.

If he went to Germany as President Bush he wouldn't have gotten nearly that friendly a reception.

BTW, can you show me the rulebook on that? It's been hilarious watching the whining from the RNC this week as if Obama broke a rule that they had written. Why don't you folks hire Arlen Spector and Gregg Easterbrooke to create a full whine? Soon Anne Coulter manly Adam's Apple will explode in rage - - I'm gettin' my popcorn and VCR ready!

    arlen specter? pfft.

There's no rulebook for presidential campaigning unless you are talking about campaign finance laws. Ethically what obama did is immoral. I'm surprised that Merkel even met with him. If I were her, I would have said to Obama, "get elected president. then we'll talk."

Obama has no business acting like the president when's he's not. You folks can't admit that he just made a fool out of himself and it's not coincidence that McCain is now leading in important battleground states where Obama held the lead. Obama's lead nationally is now shrinking. Do you think the folks down south and in the midwest will be pleased that Obama is going to EUROPE (liberal bastion of evil) and getting support? His trip overseas was the turning point this campaign - in favor of McCain.

why would even care what europeans think of america? when dems stand up for what they believe in, regardless of what the world thinks, they'll win a presidential race or two. democrats used to have a backbone. recently, however, they've won 3 presidential elections in nearly forty years and you wonder why.

Actually, there really hasn't been much movement in the polls. In general, Obama has maintained a small lead:

and a bigger lead in the electoral vote:

most polls before his trip overseas suggested that obama was up by 5 to 6 points. the lead, if you can call it that because of statistical error, is much less. that trip is going to hurt him more than anything - all it does is pander to his base but the undecideds in the midwest and south are not going to like it.

Watching the RNC twirl and spin in rage over this ("how dare he - - that's NOT in the rulebook!!!!!") has been PRICELESS.

sorry my friend. the polls are narrowing. the more and more people consider obama the more they realize he has no experience whatsover to run this country or extricate us from a disasterous and unncessary war. the guy we need to fix the foreign policy mess is McCain. mccain was in a vietnam prison for a few years. what did obama do?

Hmmm, I guess you voted for John Kerry over Bush in 2004, then huh?

Obama was a far away from Vietnam as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all the others who got us into Iraq (and took their eye off of Al Qaida in Afghanistan).

    What's your point?

Obama at least is not a half-doddering, drooler talking repeatedly last week about "Czechoslovakia" as if it still existed. Now THAT'S experience we can believe in!

Being a Vietnam POW for a few years qualifies you for what?
McCain better choose wisely on a VP.

If anybody thinks this Obama Jerk is "UPPITY" now wait until after he is Coronated.

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts wearing a Crown when he sits in the oval Office.

He will be the next president and the next four years will be a riot.

you already missed it. obama has already coronated himself by going abroad and tlaking with sarkozy, merkel and other world leaders. he is presuming himself to be the next president.

no i voted for bush because i want better judges on the supreme court. i guess bush not going to war makes obama just as qualified to be our next commander in chief.
