Crime doesn't pay.....
I hope you enjoy jail!
Do you all think President Obama pardons him, like scooter?
Scooter didnt' get pardoned, HD.
it only FEELS like he did, because he isn't in jail.
strike the comment, replace the word 'pardon' with, 'commute'
Well don't forget, he still had to pay the stupid fine and be monitored. He still has to pay his legal fees, which come to millions, and his earning potential is sh!t. His life was ruined, no matter what.
Another thing I'm pissed at Bush about, btw.
he also obstructed justice in an investigation into treason leading up to a false invasion of a county that will cost our taxpayers trillions and kill countless people.
and he got fined.
so...if Obama wins, do you think he will use his presidential powers to help Rezco?
An interesting take on this whole situation, IMO it is not as bad as it sounds..
but sure others will take issue... does not seem as though BO got a lot of breaks on his house, and overpaid for adjoining property..
Treason for what exactly? No one was prosecuted for outing Plame cause she wasn't covert.
If Rezko was associated with McCain, this would be all over the news outlets.
The guy is a crook........ and as far as associations go, he's way down on my list as damaging to BO. BO is a scumbag politician (just like the rest of them) who took money where he can get it. At least when he learned about the potential dubious sources, he gave the money away to charity.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no BO fan, and to me he still has to answer to Ayers, wright and all those other POS associations he fostered over the years. But as for Rezko, he kinda gets a pass from me.
I agree on most of what you say, but as far as Ayers goes that seems to be kind of a stretch.. it seems that they were acquaintances and had some common interests more than anything else.
The Ayers thing (unless there's something we don't know about) is a blind alley IMO.
he was found guilty of obstructing justice in the investigation. Plame was covert, that came out in Fitzgerad's case. you honesly STILL think she was a 'glorified secretary'....one that was working on nuclear proliferation in Iran...? Yeah, they give those tasks to non-covert agents...
we are at a loss.
Back to the question you seem to be dodging......
Will Obama pardon him if he wins, in your opinion?
and if he does, will you be as cool with it as scooter's commutation?
Well, you can't really accuse him of dodging the question since, in fairness you only asked me. And I wasn't dodging, I thought it was rhetorical.
He won't do it. So it's a non-issue.
And if he did do it, I wouldn't like it, but it's not something worth getting riled about either. All presidents pardon and commute questionable people. It's part of the power of the office, and I'm not about to start cutting yet more executive power, the office has been gutted enough as it is, so you just grit your teeth and take the good with the bad.
from Bob Novak's article on McClellan's book:
Since Novak is the reporter who 'outed' Plame and was an opponent of the Iraq war I'll guess he knows a lot more about it than you.
I would also ask why Fitz was even appointed since Armitage turned himself into the Justice dept before Fitz was made a special prosecutor.....:bricks:
Wow, you guys are back on the Plame crap? Sheesh...
HD bought up Libby I shouldn't have responded, just read the Navak article, I get tired of the continuing bs about Plame...
Obama's 20 yr relationship with Rezko will be glossed over by the press this is irrelevant to the election.
There was GOP connections in that trial, on a national scale.
Was McCain involved?
His name wasn't mentioned in the article I read this morning. But some bigwig R that is way high up on the Republican Convention food chain was in it deep. Rove's name was also mentioned with Romney's as a partner to fire Patrick Fitgerald.
Separate names with a comma.
