obama is an assshole who likes to go around scaring people. It started, or I first noticed it, during the campaign when he scared people saying McCain's campaign was racist because they would say "I (obama) look different". Well there was never any racism, the scare tactic was just planted. Then we'd be in another depression without his stimulus, and on and on.

You're the boy who cried wolf too many times, obama, we're onto your game now.

Do you remember that Obama threated about the job loss if his stimulus bill wasn't passed last Feb?

He got the bill and jobs are still loosing. Obama is a fcking *******. He likes to go around and threaten everybody in order to get what he wants.

I have 4 words for Obama. SHUT THE FCK UP, OBAMA!

"Jobs are still loosing." And we should listen to you, why?

    That's five words, genius.

What is wrong is people like you. Regardless of what Obama is doing, you still find a way to spin it around to make him look good.

Premiums will be going up faster than now if the plan is passed because the cost of those with pre-existing conditions will be paid by the rest of us. The "fine" for not getting insurance is small enough that many young people who choose to not buy insurance now will continue that - but when something happens to them they will get health insurance - and they can't be turned down.

Prumiums are not going up 25-30% annually now, nor will they if we maintain the status quo. They'll go up but not nearly at the rate he suggests.

There is nothing in this bill to lower costs other than Medicare cuts. Which will lower the reimbursement rate for Medicare which will make less doctors take elderly patients which means they'll die faster. I guess that will reduce health care costs.

You also can't speak English, which doesn't really reflect terribly well when you're trying to debate politics.

I'm not spinning anything. I'm not particularly happy with the health care bill.

All I'm doing is asking you to explain yourself, because 99 percent of the time you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

So the problem is we are going broke, Finally something I agree with Barry on, good.

BY all estimates (CBO & Others) the cost of the plan will > 1 Trillion more over the first 10 years of the program (and this includes the 'trick' of starting the taxing now and not spending until 2014).

So if you are going broke how will spending an additional trillion dollars help?

Barry must have flunked math class.

Do you have a link for this?

We would be paying for them either way.

This "elderly patients" line is a myth. However, I do agree there should be more in terms of cost containment in the bill.

Actually, the CBO estimate states that the bill will reduce the budget deficit. Speaking of flunking math...

They're trying to confuse people by saying it will save money. But that's only because the tax increases outdistance the additional spending.

It will cost more money. Repeat - COST MORE MONEY. You don't save money by spending more.

As I just stated, that's because of increased taxes. Healthcare costs for the nation will INCREASE.

Didn't they just pass themselves an extra 200 billion over the weekend to get through the rest of the year......? Seems like they are going to take what they want whether we like it or not. They don't care about our welfare more like how much we have to rely on them......Once they control our health care they'll have everything they need.....

Whatever. If you can explain how it's saving money to spend an extra TRILLION dollars but increase taxes by even more than that, go ahead.

In terms of a cost/benefit analysis, the benefits of everyone having health insurance outweigh the costs of increased taxation to pay for this bill, and I'm not sure how you could argue otherwise.
