Thats Nice.....Question will any Leaders on the right condem it, or will they condone it by being silent.

BBC News - Obama effigy hanged in Jimmy Carter's home town

The US Secret Service says it is investigating after an effigy of Barack Obama was found hanging in the home town of former President Jimmy Carter.

TV footage showed the doll hanging by a noose in front of a red, white and blue sign that reads "Plains, Georgia. Home of Jimmy Carter, our 39th President".

Witnesses said the effigy had President Obama's name on it.....

Haters do these things, yes Palin was hung also not much noise over it though, a bunch of these people got together and made a Movie showing GW Bush being assassinated while he was still alive and while he was still serving as President it was a big hit among many of the left Wing "Bush Haters" not much noise over that one either.......It is also possible that a “hater” didn’t do it that has been done before and not to long ago in some College down there it’s possible that an “Obama Supporter” did it for “the effect” in other words “stir up some sh!t”

Yeah, but none of the people you mentioned were black:eek:

Didn't you know it's different if its done with a person of color?

Clearly in this case there is a much greater chance that Obama's race was more of a factor than in Palin's. Unfortunately an incident like this only fuels racist charges anytime Obama is criticized on just about anything. I find it both interesting and disturbing though that the hate shown for a white conservative, can be so easily dismissed and even considered somewhat deserved. I doubt even the farthest left fringes would accept a Michael Steele hanging effigy for example. Whites have been a privileged lot in this country for a long time. That does not give excuse for a hanging effigy affirmative action type leveling of the racism playing field. If that’s where you’re coming from Harry then that notion does not deserve a “klever kommentary komrad” response.

KKK I'm used to it, Press Cover called be a racist because I said I didn't like Black Cars the phony holy roller do-gooders love a chance to jump up on the Race Card bandwagon, I'm probably wrong but some of these "doll hangings" have been Racist Set-Ups in the past, there was one not to long ago down there in a college somewhere, if this story dies out quickly it is very possible this is another one, but, I'm not always right.......

Darryl tried using that one on me once as well. He has a litany of standard comments on those HE views as less than moral.

Good thing we know Darryl isn't a good judge of morality!

Oh....we're giving special treatment to Obama effigies now? So you personally can find a Bush effigy hung more acceptable than one of Obama?

Get real...if one president can be hung in effigy, then so can another. No matter which president and no matter WHERE it was hung.

Times have changed Darryl....presidents are all the same now.

Still waiting for cooraboration of this right wing allegation??

Is it true or just another lie...I know you want to believe this, but googling Bush hung in effigy does not come up... so maybe this is just another right wing wet dream... it happens often.

The reality is that a black man hung in effigy in Plains Georgia, by the someone who does not like Obama will only polarize the opposition more..not sure you have been around a lot of black folks, they are a tad touchy about this.

How is Bush or Cheney being hung in effigy racist? Does America have a secret dark side of hanging white men from trees?

There's something a little creepier about Obama being hung in effigy in a southern town than Bush or Cheney being hung in effigy. The burning of the soldier in effigy is just as creepy.

You POV defines what is creepy or.... not. I saw no evidence that there was a racial angle? If the image of Obama had a comment about his race.... but this appears not to be the case.

This sort of defiling the image of the president is nothing new or unusual. The left however want to play the race card in every instance to stifle any criticism of Barry.

I think the message is different. As political theater, it's okay to hang Bush and Cheney in effigy, equate Obama with Hitler, call Hillary Hitlery, etc. But, when you hang a black man in effigy in the south, it conjures up the worst stereotypes of the south, even if that black man is president.

Were you speed reading and forgot to comprehend? Where did I say or imply that it was ok to hang Bush or Cheney?

Eh, whatever, its speech by a bunch of dumbazzes I'll bet; but its still speech. He's a President, not a Monarch.

I can't really equate it to lynchings in the south in the past either. Not a one of those victims had several hundred of the best trained armed guards in the history of humanity protecting them.

Sometimes free speech is tougher to take than other times. But really ... if anyone currently in power needs to hung in effigy then it's Pelosi, Reid and Sheldon Whitehouse. Anybody but Biden ... I like Big Bub Biden.

Horrible, but really no different than anything similar, that's been done to former presidents of this country. The fact that Obama, or any individual in question, is of color, does not automatically make this/an act racist. Obviously race could be part of it, but to certify as much is irresponsible. Again, a horrible act, but nothing that hasn't been done to presidents prior. I guess you could say it comes with the job. Heck, didn't someone crap on a Buffalo Bill players front lawn or something? People are messed up.
