What is his deal. Did he misspeak? I'm not sure if this is a gaffe or not. Either way, this is going to be an issue in more then a few swing states. Coal is one resource that we do have in abundance. Clean coal, like it or not, is going to be used. Nuke plants are costly and the lead time is way to long to getting them online.

At least Obama is smart enough to lie - Biden is too stupid to even do that well.

So lying is the smart thing to do, in your view?

Pardon me for getting philosophical, but that statement above explains SOOO much regarding your Bush League sentiment throughout this forum.

It's all so much clearer now. Especially the "Hey, I'm no Bush supporter, but..." garbage.

    How "smart" of you.

For a politician, yes. They lie all the time. All of them.

    Noted.

Call me naive, but I would believe in this day an age, it would be good for a politician NOT to lie. I know, crazy concept, but it's an appealing trait to me. Some people like a good whiff of their bullshyt right up in front. It comforts them, but not me.

For the record, I completely disagree with Obama's apparent ambition for the oxy-moron "clean" coal. But I don't think he's lying, I just think he's misinformed.

Obama lies with all of them. For NAFTA, against NAFTA. For drilling, against drilling. Etc. Not saying he lies more than McCain, it's just what they do.

Is it me or is the term "Clean Coal" an oxymoron?

I don't agree. I believe Obama is learning a lot of things, and solidifying positions as he goes along. If you wanna re-assert the rampant opinion that he's inexperienced, that's fine. He likely is. But what's worse? A candidate who learns and forms pluralist positions and environmental awareness, or a career legislator whose voting record almost never resembles his campaign promises?

So when the great BO changes his mind, which he has done many many times, it's "solidifying his positions".

When McCain changes his mind, like on offshore drilling, it's flip-flopping.

    Yea, that's the ticket. :singing:

Now, wait a minute: it all depends on what the definition of "is" is.

    "It's the self-promotion, stupid."

I prefer a candidate who has actually reached out to include people from the other party, as McCain has done on many occasions in order to reach a consensus, rather than an ideological slave to the far left agenda, which Obama is proving to be.

Everyone's worst fears about Obama are proving true: his roots are in the Saul Alinsky far left template, and he cannot range out of there without getting lost.

Obama seems "misinformed" on a lot of things. This is no time for on the job training. Obama is clearly ill prepared for the job of president at this perilous tumultuous time.

Ahmadinejad says America is "done". How's your Farsi??

I have yet to see anyone in the Senate or anywhere else say they really don't think McCain is qualified to be president. The only criticisms I've seen repeated are: he's got a temper and he's a white guy. Yawn.

McCain is FAR superior in his preparation to lead America at this time in history than his opponent. Light years ahead. He won't need an army of advisors traveling with him to constantly be telling him what's actually going on.
